Monday Motivation **December 18, 2017

Happy Monday!

Here is how last weeks workouts went for me.

Monday: 

Tuesday: drove out to the BF’s house, we had planned on running when I got there but it was super cold, pitch black and I was bloated so that didn’t happen hahaha. Just means I gotta kick but on Wednesday.

Wednesday: 

Thursday: Ran 1.3 miles, my stomach was not my friend and I was tired from Wednesday but I got there a did something so I am happy with that.

Friday-no workout. I got 5000 steps but otherwise sat on my butt all day

Saturday- even worse hahahahahaha, I layed on the couch most of the day and watched TV while Brandon looked up other loan options and housing options and so on and so forth.

Sunday-The plan was to go to the gym after work and knock out 3 miles but around 2 ‘o’ clock painful bloating started. I tend not to get relieved for lunch until almost 1 sometimes a little later. I am going to have to start eating my lunch either in 2 smaller amounts (probably better for me anyways) or eat lunch on my break earlier in the day.

Total mileage for the week: 5.3 miles (not great but its something)

Happy Monday!!! Though in my week it is Tuesday (I work Sunday-Thursday currently)

Thanks to Groupon I am back in the gym!!!!! I really wanted to join a gym and looked at the various $10/month ones a few weeks ago but between start up fees, annual fees and driving time it just wasn’t worth it to stretch my budget; especially since I don’t know where I will be living in just a few short months so I don’t want to pay all those fees to just have to pay them again if I need to switch gyms.

I tried to let it go but it is getting colder and colder here and we are getting less and less sun. Today the sun sets at 4:27pm. I don’t usually get home until about 4:10 (on a good no traffic kind of day) even running my fastest (after getting home and changing close and getting Artemis’ collar on her I wouldn’t even be able to get 2 miles in.

So I looked for another solution because the sun won’t really come back for a good 2 months (at least not a time that works for me hahahaha) and once it does we might have snow and black ice for another month so I went to Groupon and found a gym that is about a 10-15 min drive from my house and somewhat in between work and home (and had good reviews) and they had a 1 month membership for $13!!!!! SOLD!!! and I am pleased to say it is a NICE gym. I did have to put down a $25 deposit on the key card but that is ok.

With that I got in 4 workouts this week. I signed up on Wednesday after work and ran 2 miles and did 5 min of strength training.

Thursday- I ran 2 miles on the treadmill (but hit the walking button instead of running so my bf lucked out with that in our challenge or it would have put him even more behind hahaha) and did 7 min of strength training

Friday-Rest (we looked at houses)

Saturday-because the price was so good the bf bought the Groupon too!!! Though his was $14 lol, I got an extra dollar savings. Ran 2.17 miles, did 8 min of strength training and 20 mins of the elliptical. WHEW! We then took a 2 hour nap.

We then enjoyed salad and totinos pizza to which i added stuff to make it awesome

Sunday- ran 2.15 miles then went home and stuffed my face with pasta.

Running report and catch-up

Good morning! For a little catch-up after the holiday week.

I got out for a run on Monday after work, the rain held off just long enough and I managed to make it out the door just a few minutes after I got home so I got the last bit of sunlight. Pretty sunset huh?

I am pretty happy with my running times lately. I have been trying to push hard during my intervals without totally killing myself.

My bestie in Nevada and I really miss each other so we have decided that 3 times a year we will meet in the middle for a “date night” hahahahahaha basically an all night girly gab fest where we will stay at a cheap AirBnB. Man AirBnB has made doing things like this so much easier, we get a little apartment with a kitchen so we don’t have to eat out and you can read reviews so you know its a nice little place to stay and it is totally easy to find places for $50, 60, or 70. We already have our first date weekend planned, I am so excited! By putting $20/month (or more if I can spare it) in this little jar that will take care of my half of the room and some gas money and a little food money. It is so important to put time and effort into your friendships if you want them to last.

 

My Thanksgiving, I had to work but I got my butt out for a run as soon as I got home!

It was really pretty out!

Artemis was pretty happy we got outside too.


I really enjoyed my last pumpkin spice latte of the year.

Enjoyed this awesome view on my lunch at work, the river looked amazing with the mist all around it.

 

 

We went a little all out for breakfast on Friday hahahaha. I had some apples from the boyfriends grandparents farm so I sautéed them in some butter, brown sugar and maple syrup to make a little fall apple syrup for my pancakes, it tasted like apple pie!

Juice Saturday morning for breakfast to counteract all the bad eating.


All in all I got 3 runs in which is better than last week. Now lets home this week, I can find a few dry moments to get some runs in as well! Wish me luck!

I may have been a little delirious

I slept for a total of like 13 or 14 hours and woke up to puppy cuddles

We relaxed in the AM then got out for a run and there was actually a little sun!

When I got back I tried to be good and stretch a little, forgot how much I hate stretching hahahaha, since I hate it so much it must mean I don’t do it enough

Don’t you love my crazy bright outfit? I actually had a darker blue sweater thing on top when I went out for my run.

Anybody else have a problem finding boots that fit right? My old boots were starting to be a little thrashed so my sweet BF bought me some new ones and the foot part fits by my calves are bigger from running that they are tight!

He is going to return them and buy a half size bigger and see if that works. I hope so cause I think they are soooooo cute!!!!

Wednesday- 1.64 miles. Today was a lot slower due to me not feeling great since I ate too much candy!

Thursday-Rest, I made the lazy kid in me very happy. The BF and I ordered Pizza hut and had a Stranger Things season 2 marathon!!!!

Friday- 1.73 miles, much better pace today. And I got to run with my man which makes me very happy.

As you can see I am starting back slowly.

This has been awesome and true so far as the temperature drops here. Now I just need to find my gloves and buy some kind of ear cover headband and find a hat if I have one.

How cold does it get for winter in your area?

Do you prefer to run on a treadmill when its cold or still get outside?

This will be my first year really getting outside to run during the winter.

Sunset Run

I slept in this morning as previously stated so I had planned on going to the gym tonight but realized I might see someone I don’t want to, nothing bad I just don’t want to deal with this person if I don’t have to so I came home and waited for the sun to go down then headed out for a short run.

I came home and iced knee, it was feeling a little funky

And cooled off with a popsicle 

Oooh on another happy note it was ice cream day at work!!

Now I need to shower and get to bed so I can hit the gym in the AM. 

More than half way done

So stoked!!! We are on the downhill of the week!!!

Everyone at work seemed to be tired today. 

I only drank 1/3 of it. I am careful about my energy drink consumption since they aren’t very good for you.  

This was the protien sample I tried. I think I might order some to interchange with my vega. 

They got a lot of work done next door. Poor people lost everything.  

Trying to do high protien, low carb for a month. Everything has carbs! What the hell!!!!!????

Mushroom chicken and beef and broccoli,  I ate the beef and broccoli on the way home. 

No cookie for me. Oh and what is up with Panda Express’ new fortunes???!! They aren’t even really fortunes, they suck!!!!

My awesome roommate brought me a Starbucks!! I drank a little of it and threw the rest in the freezer for tomorrow. I have started getting soy milk in it to limit my dairy. 

Quick speed workout. I really didn’t want to do anything tonight but I forced myself to do a little something. 

And chugging down some more protien before bed.

Wednesday: Run 3 miles before work w/ Artemis This changed to a speed work after a showing at night but completed

Thursday: AM strength with trainer, Spin for 30 min after work Completed

Friday: Run 3 miles before work w/ Artemis, Swim 850m after work Did not happen, i got frusted with life and just relaxed on the couch 

Saturday: 8am Spin class, Swim 850 m Also did not happen. I was bad and stayed up waaay too late friday night so an 8am spin class was not happening and of course once you skip one workout its just soooo easy to keep skipping

Sunday: Run 10 miles This turned into a 6 plus mile hike and a 12 hour day hahaha, but it was a nice hike. 

 

Now for this week:

Monday: PM Swim 800M

Tuesday: AM strength, PM Spin

Wednesday:AM Run, PM Swim 850M

Thursday: AM Strength, PM Swim 850M

Friday: OFF

Saturday:AM spin class

Sunday: 11 mile run
