Weekend Wrap up

My birthday and the weekend!

I woke up to this awesomeness on my birthday courtesy of the BF

When I was 19 I wrote myself a series of letters to open every 5 years. They are pretty fun to read and see how my life plans have changed and stayed the same.

Birthday Dinner!

I shared a cocktail with Brandon. Hazelnut espresso or something like that

His dinner

My dinner.

Then we went to the movies, it is a movie theater/bar combo!

the movies are cheaper than a regular theatre but they get you will the drinks and food hahaha. I had 2 strawberry daiquiris (we saw 2 movies) big drinking day for me!

Brandon got me this for my birthday! He knows me so well! I am SOOOOO excited to cook some stuff!

Book Review**The Anatomist’s Wife

This was a cute fun book. It took a little bit to get into it, the beginning was a little slow; which is interesting since there wasn’t much back story you just sort of jumped in. I read it in one day, it is not a difficult read, I sat down one Sunday after work when I had no HW and just read straight through.

Of course I loved the little bit of medical knowledge that was in here, after all everything I am doing right now is leading to becoming a doctor of physical therapy so I extra enjoyed that part.

It wasn’t a terribly deep book, there wasn’t much character development in my opinion (seems to be a theme with the books I have been reading lately lol, guess when I read right now I want a break from thinking hahaha).

Overall it was an enjoyable book and I would recommend it for a vacation or spring break type of book.

Have you read this book? If so, what did you think?

From Long Beach to Long Beach!

Last weekend I was in Long beach, CA for my grandmas birthday and this weekend thr bf and I took a little road trip to Long Beach, WA.

This week I did all my training for my new floating concierge position. I worked Friday morning then met the bf at my place and we headed to Washington.

Complete with doggie and all!! He wasn’t too happy about the traffic hahahahaha

We got a little dog friendly motel room right on the beach. Went for a little run Saturday morning

After our little run we headed into town for lunch and some exploring

Super stoked to see this hahahahaha

And got the biggest ice cream cone ever!!

Even sharing it with the bf I couldn’t finish it!

It was a fun quick trip, I had to be back by mid-day Sunday so I could train that night.

This morning I had an amazing breakfast

12 grain toast with a 2 egg omelet that had onions and Parmesan cheese and an orange. Mmmm I’m hungry just thinking about it.

Then I rode the trimet/max around town getting down the routes from my place to the places I would concierge at. Parking downtown is horribly priced.

It was an interesting day lol.

And tonight I hit the gym to do 3 miles while watching The Bachelor

And a little Veronica Mars before bed

Weekend Wrap-up

Hi!!

This time last year I was in Hawaii

And now I am waiting to see if this rain turns to snow tonight hahahaha a little different.

Great weekend though

I made chicken terriyaki bowls with the boyfriend Friday night

And watched Inferno. I love Dan Browns novels and am super excited that he is working on another story in the Robert Langdon series!

Saturday the boyfriend and I took a little roadtrip to Corvallis to visit his Alma Mater

We walked around and drove around. Visited my grandmas old house

I spent at least a week here every summer.

We kept up pur streak of trying pizza places, we tried American dream pizza

It looks amazing but sadly neither of us were very impressed with this pizza. It seemed like they just cooked a cheese pizza then put the toppings on it after. Don’t need to ever return there.

After we got home the bf and I hit the cheap movie theater near me for a double feature. A Dog’s Purpose and The Space Between Us, both totally cute.

In other news the boyfriend broke down and bought a Garmin!!! His is the next generation after mine so the heart rate monitor is built in. It’s pretty cool and now we are a Garmin couple lol

I made pasta with chicken, tomato and basil for meal prep this week and sent some with the bf for his lunch this week of course.

I had some leftover pasta so dinner was a super simple cheese and basil pasta

It was actually pretty delicious

Picked up something yummy to satisfy my sweet cravings

Last weeks running total was 6.6 miles.

This years running total thus far, 31 miles

Going to shoot for 9 miles this week. Slowly increasing

How was your weekend?

How are you doing workout wise this year?

Favorite pizza topping?

Mine is pineapple and onion

Weekend Wrap-up

My boyfriend lives an hour away so he usually comes out and spends the weekend, before he got to my place I set up a little study nest for myself.

I was sitting on this for hours while studying

It was killing my back so I made this

In order to study this

Friday night we watched some Vikings tv show, I had never watched it.

Saturday we took a roadtrip to the beach, just a day trip

We headed to Astoria and had lunch at the Wet Dog Cafe

Delicious!!!!

After lunch we saw some protesters

Then headed to an old fort that Lewis and Clark built to look around

Then we headed to an old military fort built in the civil war and decommissioned after WWII

After the forts we headed to Seaside and played in an arcade for a little over an hour hahahaha. Then we found a top 50 in America pizza place

It was delicious!!!!

The boyfriend and I LOVE pizza!!! This was so good, it was an olive oil based sauce, very creamy cheese, red onions, artichoke hearts and fresh basil.

Today was another relaxing day. Tomorrow it’s back to cracking the books.

Ipsy month 3 and some other tidbits

Hi!!! The snow is really sticking around here. Most of the main streets are plowed but the side streets are still pure packed ice, as in snow that has melted then refroze. It’s a mess. It’s got 2 more days to melt a bit before I need to drive.

Now the Ipsy bag

I like this design, I could totally carry this around as a little clutch.

Definitely can’t wait to try some lipgasm lol

This one is perfect for this time of year! I coat on so much chapstick for my dry lips.

I am excited to see if this prolongs the life of my nail Polish, it always chips off so fast.

Bronzer!! It’s freezing here, literally, so this will bring a bit of summer to my life

And the perfect shade for a little multi-use makeup. In my world this can be eye shadow or blush, and maybe even lip gloss depending on the consistency.

From last months bag I am LOVING the curling gel and the mascara. The lilac eye liner is nice as well and the green eye shadow is fun.

The BF and I hit up WinCo last night and for pennies I bought a bunch of stuff to make an awesome trail mix for munching on this week while studying

I also made some white chicken chili

I took 4 recipes I found on pintrest and took what I liked from each one and made my own version. I also bought cream cheese instead of sour cream and just went with it hahahaha! It turned out pretty awesome actually.

Today my BF, roommate, roommate’s BF and I attemped to do a museum tour around Portland but almost everything was closed!!! Dang snow strikes again.

We were able to hit the vacuum museum

And hit OMSI our biggest museum around, we watched a 25 minute presentation on the night sky in Portland. It was pretty cool, the projected the night sky on the ceiling of a domed room. It looked amazing!!!

How is your winter going?

Beach Getaway

Along with a crappy start to the week I had a great time at the beach with a great guy.

It was perfect Oregon coast weather.

We had pizza, coffee, and relaxed and watched movies. Cuddled by an awesome wood stove

Artemis loved the beach but hated the house she didn’t know

Along with all the food and cuddling we also walked/ran up a giant san dune two days in a row

Artemis loved running around

We ran up and down the beach both days as well and did some exploring.

Have you been to the Oregon coast?

Weekend Road trip!

Starbucks is a must

A little stop at a wildlife safari

Some of the animals get sooooo close

Our hotel room was pretty nice

It was one of thise extended stay marriot kind of places

In ‘n’ Out! I introduced in n out to someone, my life mission is complete lol

We also hit a winery and got some AMAZING pear wine

A little ice cream and chocolate stop in Ashland and we headed back home.

It was a really fun low key road trip weekend. I look forward to the next one, I’m thinking the coast in a month or 2 when its nice and stormy.

Monday came way too soon.

How was your weekend?

Marmot pass Day 2

Even though I didn’t sleep very well I woke up to the cutest face ever!

I can’t get over how flipping adorable she is!

After the freezing night we woke up to frost on the ground

Artemis in her little sweater

We had a great view!

After some breakfast we packed up and were on our way!

We were tired so we rocketed back to the car. Plus going down is faster than going up so it took us about 1/2-2/3 the amount of time to get back to the car.

On the way back Artemis got bit on the butt by a bug, poor thing, I gave her 1/2 a benadryl and that took care of any swelling and she is fine now. I got stung by a yellow jacket, my first sting in probably 20 years, good thing I’m not allergic!

I’ve never been so happy to be back in my car lol. The dogs passed out pretty fast. We stopped for McDonald’s and Starbucks and made the 5 hour trip back home.

Monday was a lot of relaxing, we all dogs included, spent most of it on the couch but I managed to get some laundry done and a bit of unpacking and some grocery shopping done.

How was your weekend?

Do you like the uphill or downhill better on a hike?
