Random Saturday stuff

It is 7:45pm and i am exhausted. I am sitting in my room tearing up while watching the wedding in Breaking Dawn part 1. Don’t judge lol. Exhaustion makes people more emotional. I’ve always loved the wedding in this movie and ibwas watching Charlie walk Bella down the isle him totally tearing up and i just got that sad I’ll never have that moment. For those that don’t know my dad died almost 8 years ago some days it still hurts like it was yesterday.

Ok enough with the depressing.

Another 7+ hour day working at the tulip farm. It was a beautiful day so the festival was PACKED. Today was the busiest day they have had in the 32ish years they have been doing this.

As soon as i got home i changed into workout clothes because if i sit down i am not getting back up.

Artemis and i got out and ran 2.5 miles in the beautiful day.

My right foot really hates it when i stand on it for 7+ hours then run over 1.5 miles on it.

Yay!!!!! My peas and corn are starting to sprout!! Not much action from the onions and potatos yet though. Fingers crossed.

Easiest healthy dinner. You saute whatever veggies you have in the fridge then pour some bottled pasta sauce over it.

Add a little basil and cheese and shovel in mouth because you are starving and starting to crash.

Then pass out from exhaustion.

Hump Day!!!!

Howdy!!!!

Met with my trainer this morning and am finally getting back on track with my workouts. Before today i hadn’t worked out since my run on Saturday. Yes, i live a life where 3 days without working out is a lifetime hahahaha.

Sorry i didn’t post yesterday i went out on a pizza date and passed out as soon as i got home to make it to try and get in 7 hours of sleep before getting up to go to the gym this morning. The date……….well the pizza was good lol. The converstation kind of ebbed and flowed, there were some awkward silent ebbs though hahaha. This was our second date so i kissed him at the end of the night……also awkward, i sort of ran to my car after that LOL.

Speaking of pizza letrs talk Blue Apron Meal 3! Veggie Calzones. So they were supposed to be mushroom, collared green calzones, they turned into collared green, onion and pineapple calzones to fit my desire lol.

I am excited these actually reheated quite well for lunches. Out of this box with me doctoring the meals a bit and adding and subtracting a few things here and there i got a total of 10 meals instead of 6, woot woot!!! So far 4 of those are in the freezer for a later date, it might be 5 depending on what i eat tonight and if i make one of the meals from the box that is arrive tonight for my lunch tomorrow or not.

Lastly i have a finanicaly dilemma, though i have come to a decision but yea. So i by no means make a lot of money. I am lower middle income and personal training and races cost money, also i have student loans and credit card debt and spent several years living beyond my means. Mixed with my medical debt from my sugery i am slowly paying off i am broke most of the time. I just set up a whole budget for myself to get back on track and start paying off debt and stop living beyong my means, yay me.

So of course, my gym emails me and says we are raising our personal training fees, not by a lot but every dollar counts. I have like 4 hours left of training on my account so i know i was going to have to buy more soon but i was thinking of doing a lesser package but of course now if i buy the largest non-reaccuring package i can lock my price in and train consistently for about 4 months which is great, but it is going to cost me $1440. OUCH!!!!! This does give me the lowest hourly cost and i am splitting it into 4 payments but of course it has to be purchased by the end of the month so the first payment is going on my credit card. I was feeling guilt about this after promising myself not to live beyond my means but i sat down and really thought about it and i have been battling depression pretty badly out here the last few months and consistently working out has kept me on a happier, healther past. My mom made the great point of saying that $1440 is a lot but its also a lot cheaper than months of therapy LOL.

Monday Motivation

Welcome to the last Monday in March!!!!

Well i was supposed to meet with my trainer this morning to do a strength workout at 5am. I rolled over to look at the clock this morning and it was 5:30am…….oops.

Now i know i set my alarm, not only did i set one alarm on my phone, i set 5!!!!! None of them went off. I know i did not roll over and hit the off button 5 times and not once wake up, at least one of them even had a little puzzle i have to solve to make it turn off. I think the universe silenced my phone and decided i needed the rest. Just saying. And that rest cost me $65 because i still had to pay for the session since i stood her up. Now as much as that sucks i totally understand it, my awesome trainer still got her butt out of bed at an ungodly hour to be at the gym to train me so she should get paid if i flake out or oversleep no matter whether it was intentional or not. I just wish it didn’t cost so much lol, but that is what i get for training through a gym. She should really go independent so i can save some money lol.

As for the rest of the week:

Tuesday: bike and swim

Wednesday: AM swim with trainer

Thursday: bike and swim

Friday: OFF!!!

Saturday/Sunday- 6.5 miles one of these days.

A satisfying Wednesday night

Howdy!!!

Well i got home at about 6:10 today and Blue Apron was waiting for me!!

You probably noticed i hadn’t had blue apron in awhile. It got to the point where i wasnt cooking everything or i didn’t love everything. Dont get me wrong, nothing was ever bad just some of it wasn’t to my taste so i was wasting things. And at $60/box that was unacceptable. So i took some time off and now my rule for myself is, id every meal in the box doesn’t look amazing then i skip it.

While cooking i managed to get a load of laundry washed and in the drying and a 2nd load into the washer.

Add kale.
I added some aspargus, yellow squash and zucchink squash that i had in the fridge.

I also had an extra salmon fillet in the freezer i thawed and cooked. With my few additions i made this into 3 meals instead of 2 :mrgreen:

Though i didnt eat it tonight i did taste it and YUM!!!! The freekah (grain thing) with the fresh veggies and lemon juice perfectly balances the spiced salmon. At least in my opinion.
And 2 helpings went in the freezer. 

I also emptied the dishwasher and got another load started. And now 3 hours after i got home its time for bed so i can get up and workout in the AM before work.

What does a productive night look like for you?

My small life

It’s funny how our lives  lives go through cycles, this time last year my life and my community consisted of hudreds of through hikers and through hiking blog readers. Some of that is still a part of my life, i may not be a through hiker but i am a hiker. But now i am back in Oregon and my life consists of going to work, working out, hanging at home with my dog and the occasional date. Yes i am part of the running community and am becoming part of the triathlon community but i am very much alone up here.

Don’t worry this is not a pity party post.

But really, none of my immediate family is here, i have no close friends here. The one wonderful woman i hung out with on a regular basis moved to the other side of the country. I am averaging seeing 1 other woman and her fiance about once every other month. But that is it. So it’s time to take the bull by the horns.

I have made exercise a priority and now meeting people will be as well.

I have joined 2 book groups and RSVP’d to these groups April event so yay.

Also i joined a few running groups and RSVP’d to a short run the weekend after the tulip festival ends. I WILL put myself out there. I need to build a base of people here.

If you are interested in meeting people I used Meetup.com there is something for everyone.

On a side note i got lots of planting done last night!

It is an off week for me, starting the work on the weekends wiped me out as did the time change and i think i might have the edge of something so i am mostly taking it easy. One easy week in the hopes that nothing gets worse.

Good Afternoon!!!

Another Monday has come. Sorry i didnt post my weekend wrap-up. I dealt with some drama last night and was just not in the mood to post anything.

Monday- PM run: run 5 min, walk 1.5 min X 6

Tuesday- AM strength training

Wednesday- AM Swim

Thursday- AM Spin class

Friday-OFF

Saturday- AM spin class

Sunday- AM Yoga, PM run: run 4.5 min, walk 1.5 min X 9-10 (whatever it takes to get to 4 miles.

What is the opposite of thirsty thursday?

I almost didn’t get up for spin class. I already wanted to go back to sleep then Artemis cuddled up to me and i soooo wanted to skip spin but then i thought about having to tell my trainer i didn’t go and that ill be gone next week so yea….

I got my butt up and went……and wanted to die.  Spin class instructors are sadistic. But they get me to push above and beyond so yea.

Take a moment to enjoy and experience this. ……a completely empty locker room at the gym. For like a FULL MINUTE. This is unheard of at my gym.

Exhaustion does not cover what i feel. 4 workouts in 48 hours. I am so taking tomorrow off workouts. I am still going to bed early even though i get to ‘sleep in’ tomorrow.

They have these for dogs!!!! 3 flavors where on sale at target so i got 1 of each for Artemis to try. Tonight with her kibble she had pumpkin and oat puree. She enjoyed it.
