Book Review

There’s no such thing as bad weather.

Love, love, loved this book. It was so interesting and eye opening. It’s all about how scandanavian countries put a premium on getting their kids outside versus how we do things here in America. There was a lot of data to back up what was said.

I try and get my kids outside daily but this really showed me that I could do more and how used to being comfortable I am.

I also love that the author gives a book reccomendation at the end of every chapter and I plan on working my way through those.

I didnt find it dry or tedious to read, i enjoyed picking it up each night.

2023 life update

Easter 2023

My little man is now 2.25 years old and my little girl is 11.5 months old. Life is crazy over here. Wonderful and exhausting all at once.

We just finished having back to back stomach bugs and colds. But my daughter’s sleep is still super screwed up and my husband and I are TIRED! But, I just tell myself ‘it won’t be like this for long’, and ‘you’re gonna miss this’. Both of those are songs lol, pull them up I YouTube when you feel overwhelmed, I do.

We are full swing into muddy spring days over here and go through 2+ outfits a day hahaha. I am currently nap trapped under a baby and love it so I thought I’d update you. More soon!!

If you are looking for a healthy cookbook Skinny Bitch is it! So far I love every recipe I have tried out of it. It is vegan but don’t let that scare you, the food is GOOD!!!! It is totally for the masses not just for Vegans.

It’s been another great workout week for me! I took last Sunday off then did a workout everyday Monday-Thursday. Friday we went camping so I got a little bit of a workout setting up camp which was about 1/3 of a mile from our car and we hiked it a few times on trails.

Saturday was great and we did a little hiking then the day took a terrible turn when my dog ran away (more to come in another post) and we spent hours looking for her. Thankfully it turned out ok in the end.

Sunday- we Did a little walking around and broke down camp and the evening was spent relaxing after an extremely emotional and exhausting ordeal.

Let’s talk about food!!

Oh my gosh how I love having a kitchen again!!!! I am loving cooking!!!

Salads are making a come back in my life.

A little veggie stir fry using yakisoba noodles from the grocery store (teriyaki flavor) then added any veggies I had in the fridge that needed to be used up.

Homemade guacamole!!! This will be happening a lot this summer I think.

Beef straight from the farm!!!!

Another meal kit I will be cooking up this week.

Brandon made breakfast for me this weekend. I cook most of the time but when he does he blows me away! This was so good and had amazing flavor! I think he used pepper and garlic salt and who knows what else. And on rosemary bread, oh yea!

Someone gave me a donut at work last week, YUM

Last weeks dish! I may have had it for a few meals cause it was delicious.

March goal check-in

PROPERLY train for and run a half, full and ultra marathon. Need at least 95 miles, Actual Milage: hahahahahaha less than 10 miles

Revamp my diet and STICK TO IT!!!!

Breakfast-juice and muffin or toast and coffee

I have been having awesome juice 4 mornings out of the week and am feeling great! My energy is increasing!

Midmorning snack- Slimfast or smoothie

Lunch- Soup or salad

Dinner- Anything I want as long as it is make at home

After dinner- tea or hot chocolate

I have been varying a little from the rest of this but I am eating small portions more frequently and I can feel a difference, it takes less food to get me full which is great so I am eating less overall I think.

Get A’s in all my classes this year. Final Grade: I got a C, but I already addressed that.

Drop two clothing sizes, go from a 10 to a 6. Clothing size: pretty much the same but I am finally starting to feel better so I am on the right track.

Stop overspending!!!! Continue to not keep money on you, send $15/month to both accounts and put at least $50 in savings. Amount saved: $0 moving is expensive.

Take a few minutes every day to sit in quiet reflection, meditate, and do something spiritual. Continue last month’s 5 minutes a day and add in celebrating the new and full moon. Out of 31 days I did: about 5 min total unless you count 2 counseling sessions this month but that isn’t really quite or spiritual.

When move into the house, plant at least 3 plants each week. Number of plants planted: like 75 seeds started! and 8 actual plants planted!

Continue to work on and grow my relationship with Brandon. Continue to plan something every weekend and add in 1 night of cooking a meal TOGETHER every week.

4 weekend outings:

  1. We did a 2 mile run together 1 weekend which I count as a date because I LOVE running with him.
  2. Our date box night! which I reviewed a few days ago

4 meals cooked together: I pretty much did all the cooking this month since he is still slaving away in the bathroom.

Read 1 non-school book a month.

Books read this month: I have actually been reading a lot more this month and I love it. I have read the Tracy Crosswhite series on Kindle as well as a few others. I will try and get some reviews posted soon.
