March goal check-in

PROPERLY train for and run a half, full and ultra marathon. Need at least 95 miles, Actual Milage: hahahahahaha less than 10 miles

Revamp my diet and STICK TO IT!!!!

Breakfast-juice and muffin or toast and coffee

I have been having awesome juice 4 mornings out of the week and am feeling great! My energy is increasing!

Midmorning snack- Slimfast or smoothie

Lunch- Soup or salad

Dinner- Anything I want as long as it is make at home

After dinner- tea or hot chocolate

I have been varying a little from the rest of this but I am eating small portions more frequently and I can feel a difference, it takes less food to get me full which is great so I am eating less overall I think.

Get A’s in all my classes this year. Final Grade: I got a C, but I already addressed that.

Drop two clothing sizes, go from a 10 to a 6. Clothing size: pretty much the same but I am finally starting to feel better so I am on the right track.

Stop overspending!!!! Continue to not keep money on you, send $15/month to both accounts and put at least $50 in savings. Amount saved: $0 moving is expensive.

Take a few minutes every day to sit in quiet reflection, meditate, and do something spiritual. Continue last month’s 5 minutes a day and add in celebrating the new and full moon. Out of 31 days I did: about 5 min total unless you count 2 counseling sessions this month but that isn’t really quite or spiritual.

When move into the house, plant at least 3 plants each week. Number of plants planted: like 75 seeds started! and 8 actual plants planted!

Continue to work on and grow my relationship with Brandon. Continue to plan something every weekend and add in 1 night of cooking a meal TOGETHER every week.

4 weekend outings:

  1. We did a 2 mile run together 1 weekend which I count as a date because I LOVE running with him.
  2. Our date box night! which I reviewed a few days ago

4 meals cooked together: I pretty much did all the cooking this month since he is still slaving away in the bathroom.

Read 1 non-school book a month.

Books read this month: I have actually been reading a lot more this month and I love it. I have read the Tracy Crosswhite series on Kindle as well as a few others. I will try and get some reviews posted soon.

Week 3 of A&P

Had my first midterm this week, WTF???!!! It covered 4 chapters and I spent 3 days studying for it. Normally I would study more than I did or maybe better is the right word but this is what I managed while grieving so we will see how it turns out.

I have found this great Youtube series called Crash Course that I am in love with. It is great for a quick study review, makes sure I know the big concepts and it gives great examples (in my opinion) I will definitely be using this as long as I can. Wanna learn with me? Check out the intro, epithelial tissue, integumentary system and connective tissue.

I was a little stressed about the exam but also am starting to really get interested in the subject so that is helping. I will keep you posted!

Check out crash course!!!!! They have LOTS of different subjects.

PS. I got an 85.5% on my exam!!!!! I would have preferred an A but I will take that since I missed the first week. And now to immerse myself in bones……….not the TV show but the information about our actual skeletal system.

5 weeks until school starts

And it begins, the countdown to winter quarter starts now. 5 weeks to go.

5 weeks until I start the joyous, interesting, horror that is anatomy and physiology.

Currently I am registered the community college I have been going to; near where I live just outside Portland as well as on the waitlist for the class at the community college in Salem. It all depends on what happens over the next 5 weeks. If we are in escrow in the Salem area when school starts (and I get off the waitlist) I will go there but if not or if I don’t get off the waitlist I will take it by my old house and just head there after work and study for a few hours. Maybe get a run in as the weather warms up a bit, we shall see.

Everything is up in the air now, which is a little stressful but I am trying to just go with it. I also need to try and put a few dollars into savings to cushion the blow of tuition and books. Anatomy is not cheap, it is 4 credits and has lab fees along with needing supplies.

Be prepared to start hearing a lot about anatomy. I am already using Quizlet to study a bit beforehand.

What’s been going on over here

I have been on a serious sweet tooth kick over here. Made my coffee a mocha.

Always fun to study something that no one knows what it does

Salad and something with cheese has been a big lunch time ritual for me lately.

pork roast with veggies and rice. I love using the slow cooker

Artemis and I enjoyed the eclipse by going for a run. It was pretty eerie. People looking at the sun with glasses while it got dark then as a group would turn and look at us run by, very pod people-esque. I kept waiting for zombies to jump out at us.

Smoothies are still a big thing over here.

More salad and cheese.

Mmmmm breakfast sandwich from the coffee shop near work.

Life has been food, running, work and starting to freak out about Europe hahaha. Talk to you soon!!!!!

Monday Motivation**July 24, 2017

How’s it going this fine July morning?

School is going good but the subject matter is getting more and more in-depth so my study time is increasing. But I am still loving it!!!! It is all so interesting! I just have to take it day by day otherwise I get overwhelmed at the thought of all the information I need to absorb in the next few years.

Back to mostly juice!!!

Here is my morning juice, it was 3 carrots, some ginger, 1 apple and 2/3 of a peach (I had to cut off parts that were going bad). I was a little surprised at how happy I was getting back to juice this morning. Like my recycling of the Gatorade bottle hahaha.

Lunch

I drank half my 2nd juice before lunch and half after

This was 1 cucumber, 3 celery and an orange…i think thag was it.

Dinner was spaghettios and a quesadilla.

Ive decided Sunday is going to be a lean in day and the 3 official days will be mon, tues and wed. This way i can head to my Bfs for dinner Sunday nights if our schedules allows it.

How was your weekend?

Day 7 of 28 day cleanse

Today is a prime example of what happens when you don’t prep. I was tired from hiking and didn’t prep anything Friday night and woke up late Saturday morning so I had no time to make anything, I also slept horribly and needed coffee. Insert Starbucks here.

Breakfast was the reduced fat turkey bacon sandwich. I did have leftover pasta and garlic bread for lunch thankfully.

This was snack:

How is it possible that something that should be pretty healthy for you is so many weight watchers points????? All the individual components are good for you.

When I got home this had arrived from Amazon! Can’t wait to start coloring and learning!

This happened, my roommates made butterfinger cream cheesecake kind of think. Holy crap was it rich, that is the actual size piece I took, minus one bite and that was more than enough. Sugar coma totally.

To combat the sugar coma I had a quesadilla I microwaved and a salad then read and went to bed.

And with that I am ready to get back to my 3 days of juicing!!!!!

Overall the last 4 days I feel pretty good about what I ate. The dessert wasn’t great and I had some cookies before the hike on Friday and Red Robin isn’t the healthiest choice but overall I think I did pretty good.

Ready to start week 2?!
