Got delicious breakfast with my mom and stepdad at Biscuits Cafe

This is how I stop myself from eating anymore when I’m full, otherwise I keep snacking

Watching an old episode of Survivor while I do some work and hang with my puppy. 

Gonna do a short run this afternoon then hang with the family.

What is your favorite breakfast?

Mine is a toss up between simple eggs, bacon and toast, and the decadent stuff like pancakes, French toast and waffles. 

Rest day and my mama!!!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Work would not end today Then traffic was sucky! Finally I made it home and it’s roasting!!!!

Then we went on a mom sponsored grocery shopping trip!!!!

You can thank my mom for the delicious food pics that will show up in the next 2 days hahahaha. 

Rewatching the Barkley marathons. 

Watched ‘tracks’ with my mom earlier. 

I’m working on my hydration because I lagged in that area today. 

She’s hard to see in the dark but you can kind of make out her collar to the left lol

Once this is done it’s bedtime. 
Oh man so in sad new update, my triathlon has been cancelled!!!! They were sort of vague about the why, basically just unforseen consequences and things beyond their control. I deferred my race entrance to next year. But I’m still bummed. On the plus side this gives me more time to save and get a good bike. I’ll keep you posted.

Good morning!!!

I trades shifts with a coworker so I can get off early because I have family in town so I got to work before the sun was up

I love getting here early, I feel like I get so much more done. 

On Fridays I pick out my meals for next week so I can prep over the weekend. 

Pintrest is my best friend on Fridays. 

I am going to make the lettuce taco boats again from last week because they were soooooo delicious.  

 Meal #2 will be sweet chili pineapple chicken with veggies over rice. 

Meal #3 will be a Mediterranean pasta salad that I am going to add shredded chicken to. 

Snack #1 will be celery with peanut butter 

#2 will be this!!!

Weekend Wrapup

Whew!!!! Just got home from a 12 hour day. Last night the crazy visiting dogs got picked up at 11:30pm so my roommate and I slept in this morning. I got up before she did and watched some TV. I knew I would either be running 10 miles today or hiking. 

After my roommate woke up we chose hiking. We were on the road by 11, this was pretty last minute so we got a very late start.

4 hours later after pooping dogs, stressed out dogs, barking dogs and slow a** drivers, we arrived at the hiking spot.

Only to realize it was the wrong hiking spot. We were in the right area just wrong spot so we drove around for another 10 min until we found it.

And off we went for a walk in the woods!

It was a nice but challenging hike. 1200ish foot elevation gain, mostly in the first 2 miles. 

Artemis likes to run ahead then run back, then run ahead, then run back so she probably did like 12 miles to our 6. I know I kept her well hydrated though cause she peed a lot hahahahaha.

Afterwards back into the car for another 4 hours adventure!!!!

There was traffic of course and we stopped at A&W to get root beer freezes and food. The food is a life choice I am regretting. Also we were seriously in the drive through line for a minimum of 20 min!!!! They were so slow and rude!!!! Bit it was DAMN good food After the hike. I just know my stomach isn’t going to be happy. 

Artemis knocked out until we got to the food then we got back on the road and barked until I rolled the window up while we sat in traffic. Apparently the traffic noises were making it hard for her to sleep because then she credit down and passed back out until we got home. Now she’s passed out in bed. 

The last surprise of the night was a cold shower,  I am guessing our pilot light went out or something. Quick rinse off and I was out. And now it’s time for me to pass out. Goodnight. 

Semi-eventful Saturday 

I chose a bright summer color

After getting our nails done my friend and I got a late breakfast at Danny’s.

The bacon I ate haunted me all day. 

I never made it to the gym, because of course a body at rest stays at rest, but I made it to the grocery store so I could start my meal prep. 

Made a turkey stew with bacon, Turkey and some veggie crumbles

And broth, spices and water. 

20 min before it’s done you add lima beans, 10 min later you add cabbage. 

I made the delicious peanut butter, banana, and chocolate. Here they are assembled but not set

And after they set in the freezer

They don’t look super pretty but they are delicious!!!!! And were actually pretty easy to make. These will definitely be a common occurrence in my meal plans.

And bindge on the TV show scandal. 

Tomorrow I will either be running 10 miles or hiking 10 miles. Not sure yet.

Happy 4th of July!!!! 

I had a mostly low key day, I had a training session at 6am then came home and just relaxed all day. 

The puppies and I enjoyed being lazy

I found this Hawaiian punch mix I had bought for the trail and it helped satisfy my sweet craving today! Score!!

The rest of the night was spent watching movies and holding my poor baby when really loud fireworks went off. But now I have 2 fans on in my room and Girl more girls playing and the fireworks are finally starting to slow down…….it’s almost midnight and now she’s calming down and it’s sleep time

 I had planned in going to spin class and then a quick swim before work but that is sooooo not happening now so I guess I’ll go after work instead. 

Rock and Roll 1/2 marathon Seattle part 2

Saturday morning we got up super early, about 4:40 and were out the door by about 5:15. Thankfully since the solstice is so close the sun was starting to rise so we had a little light. We hopped on the bus and head into downtown. Every few stops another runner got on the bus lol. We got there just after six and walked about 2 blocks to the space needle where the start line was. We did all the normal stuff, drank some water, bag drop all that. I was able to get down most of my protien shake and a few bites of a blueberry muffin then nerves got the best of me and I wasn’t hungry. 

I made my way to my Corral, which was waaaaaaay back from the start lol

The start was delayed 15 min so the first wave went at 7:15……..I crossed the start line at about 8:05 lol.

Yea it was a big race lol. I waited so long that my nerves dissipated and hunger struck. Thankfully my mom had most of our stuff with her so I had the snacks I had bought at the Expo the day before.

This was my first time eating one of the waffles and it was DAMN good. I am so stoked I bought this.

So I crossed the start line and was doing awesome! My PR is 2:57 and I was on track for a 2:45 finish. I hit mile 6 still on pace feeling pretty good

Then I started hurting and miles went from about 12:30 to 15:00-16:00. 

Mile 9 was the Blue Mile, honoring our fallen service men and women. It was very moving and I refused to walk during the about quarter mile that people were holding the flag up.

After that I walked most of mile 10 but ran most of mile 13 which thank goodness was mostly downhill. And of course I picked up speed the last .2 miles.

My medal!!!! I earned this one lol. Every step from mile 9 on was painful.

Mom and I relaxed at Starbucks for a bit and I sponged off in the bathroom and changed clothes lol. My step dad met us and we got lunch then they dropped me off at Amtrack and I was able to get on a train about 3.5hours earlier than I had planned which was super awesome!
I got home about 7:30pm instead of midnight.

So that was my weekend! Sunday I happily did nothing but sit on my butt.

I’ll review the race tomorrow.

Seattle Rock and Roll 1/2 marathon 2016

After the Expo mom and I got a light lunch then took a taxi to our Air B&B accommodations.
We had some fun mishaps trying to take a bus to find some food

After 2 buses and probably a mile and a half of walking we settled on the next restaurant we walked in front of…..I know GASP, eating someplace unknown the night before a big race, thankfully it all workout ok.

I went with the simplest thing possible.

After dinner we headed back, got everything ready for my race the next morning and passed out.

Book binge day 1

I finished the Terri Blackstone book and The lady of the rivers,  I had about 1/3 of each of those books left

I started outlander book 1 and am half way through it and I watched the first 2 episodes of the TV show on Amazon.com so far it follows the book quite closely.

I have literally been reading all day. From about 8-8:30am I went to the grocery store but the rest of the day was spent on the couch with my nose in a book or watching an Episode of a book I was ready. I would guess I’ve read about 500 pages today and watched 3 hours of TV shoes. Now it’s time to pass out. Good night.

Home from my trip and the week’s recap

Back to work today!!!

The end my trip was nice, we tried to go to the gym and swim Morning but the pool was closed because the office was closed, don’t ask me to explain it cause i can’t lol.

Then we went to the beach for lunch, which sadly was dissapointing, especially considering the prices, oy.

But the dogs had a blast at the beach!
