Post New Years and randomness

Hi!!!! I hope you had a great New Years!!! Mine was fun but too excessive.

I went out in New Year’s Eve with my roommate, we went dancing and drinking. My intention was to party and i did. I dont drink much anymore so 6 shots in about 3 hours resulted in some lovely alcohol poisening for me. I couldn’t even keep water down until about 2pm on Friday. Then i ordered a pizza and stuffed cheesy bread that i snacked on the rest of the day. Between the greasy pizza and gatorade and water i survived. But this endeavor did prompt me to decided to give up alcohol for the 2016 year. I just really don’t need it and  never feel good with the after effects. I have also gone back to being a vegetarian. I just feel so much better without meat in my system.

I am super stoked for it. It is really going to help my training and see where i need improvements and where i can back off. It’s going to be great to help me get safely though all my races this year.

Weekend wrap-up

Sunday morning my roommate convinced me to get up and go to yoga.

I am glad i went. These are the days when it is really good to have a workout partner. It made me introspective which made me a little depressed but i pulled myself out of it.

This is the perfect toy for Artemis, the head is a tennis ball and the body is ropes and squeakers. Artemis can’t have anything with stuffing because she will eat it and get sick.

I swear this looks like a slim jim.

I bought probiotics from Amazon because i caught a stomach bug that is going around. Those came on Saturday so i am starting to take those to balance me out.

I did a bit of organizing and decorating of my room. I need to get settled.

A Mostly Satisfying Saturday

Well Saturday has come to an end, at least for me, there is still about 2 hours left for the rest of the pacific standard time zone.

I ran my 5k this morning

I bested my August 5k time by about 7 minutes!!! Woot woot! New 5k PR for me!

Then i was surfing the internet and found these cute medal/bib displays that i like and  I’m going to (at some point in the next few months) try and piece together my favorite parts into me own creation.

I relaxed on the couch the rest of the day while my roommate made hudreds of cookies that i sampled and ate some cookie dough.

Then i knew it was time to workout again since i ate so much crap!

I did 20 minutes on the bike and 25 walking on the treadmill on an incline.

Then it was dinner time!

My roommate and i have decided to go out and party New Year’s Eve and i have decided that i have earned a night of not giving a shit. In the last 6 months my mom got remarried, though I’m happy for her and only want her to be happy, it was very difficult for me, and in the last 2 months i have had surgery, been sick now 3 times, been basically dumped my my best friend of 13 years, my other great friend that i had a ‘ dinner date’ with weekly moved to Indiana and as of  Friday night am now single. I have also come to the realization that my old running partner and I’s friendship was irrevocably changed when i moved back to Nevada and i don’t believe it will ever be the same. Life has sucked recently.

And i seem to be falling back into this i dont want to let myself cry, push all my feelings down pattern which has never lead to good things. It generally leads to self-damaging actions. Thankfully i seem to be using excercise as a crutch which is good.

Whew sorry to get heavy on you!

FYI, it is sunday morning and i am feeling much less pity party this morning. Still sad but working on moving on.

A mellow Thursday.

Howdy.

My training session in the pool today went great, i can feel my stamina slowly increasing.

Though by midmorning my stomach was not happy with me. I ordered some probiotics off amazon that should be here Saturday. Apparently there is a GI virus going around….that is just lovely. Like i haven’t been sick enough for one season.

I had a relaxing night of watching The Scorch Trials, if i remeber correctly it was pretty different from the book with the order of events and certain things that happened. I’m not 100% sure if i liked it or not.

Now its off to bed for me. Need sleep. 

Weekend Catch-up

Being back home, and yes a part of me will always consider LB home, especially while the majority of my family is here, has been great. I wish i had more time to see everyone i wanted to see and that i was fully recovered from this cold so i wasn’t so exhausted but it’s still been an good weekend.

Mom and i walked to Starbucks Saturday morning for breakfast amd a workout.

Sunday morning mom and i met my sister, bother in law, niece and nephew for breakfast where i ate way too much but it was delicious! On the way there we saw this

I think this is the first time i have actually ever seen this in real life.

My my uncle and his wife and my other aunt met us for lunch and my grandma’s. And for dinner i had a terriyaki beef bowl from this whole in the wall place across the street that is freaking amazing!!!!  Once again i ate too much. This whole day i was boarding on being uncomfortably full, my family tends to congregate around food. I’m gonna have to start working my butt off and eating healthy again.

Ok now it’s sleep time, my eyes won’t stay open.

Recovering and blue apron

I am finally starting to see major improvement from being sick which is great. Another 2-3 days max and i should hopefully be 100%.

Tonight i finally made one of my thanksgiving blue apron meals. Cornish game hen and sourdough stuffing. Delicious!!!

I am super stoked with how this turned out and i got 3 meals out of it. I took some tastes tonight and will have one helping for lunch tomorrow.

This is my optimistic plan. I have been hit with a narley cold. Surgery knocked my immune system down so i am catching everything, which super sucks, but this too shall pass.

Weekend Catchup

Hi!!!! I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! Mine didn’t go quite at planned. I was supposed to meet my boyfriend’s family but Wednesday during the day his grandma fell and broke her hip and was hospitalized. Thanksgiving was cancelled and he drove up by himself to see her in the hospital.

Blue Apron week 4 meal 1: tortilla soup

I love that it had me toast my own tortilla chips, it was super easy but took the meal to the next level.

I added a can of kidney beans to it for a little more protien and body.

I also added more cheese lol.

Once again i got about 4 meals out of this instead of 2, which makes me happy happy happy!!!

And in my box i ended up with an extra avocado and an extra bag of cilantro which worked out perfectly since i had extra soup.

Still drinking lots of tea and using essential oils to try and kick this cold.

Blue Apron week 3 meal 2

I had never made anything tempura before. I’ve eaten and love tempura but have never made it.

And i was definitely skeptical about acorn squash tacos.

Yea, our counters are a little messy.

The prep work wasn’t too bad except for the squash which was a pain. Also i had way more onion and way more squash than i needed.

While cooking i enjoyed some pink lemonade emergen-c cause i have been feeling a little funky.

I’ve also never really fried anything so that was interesting. It was a lot easier than i thought. I may have to try some fried chicken soon.
