Confessions time…..

My confession is that I suffer from road rage. Anyone who rides in the car with me ends of laughing their butt off then wondering why the heck people are going so slow. By the time the car ride is over you agree with me, but don’t worry it doesn’t follow you into your car. I will tell and gesture emphatically,  not like flipping people off (they could be armed I’m not risking it) but like both hands up in the air or waving at you to get over if you are in the fast lane. Sometimes it’s bad lol. My roommate experienced this for the first time on our road trip hiking adventure.  OK confession over.

I sooooo did not want to go to the gym after work, soreness from strength training was setting in and the panda express but tired me out but I bargained with myself that I only has to spin for 20 min so I dragged my butt there

And my mom called me about 7 min in, thankfully the room was empty so I chatted with her for almost 20 min and that helped.

Then to home I went for bolognase!!!

Weekend Wrapup

Whew!!!! Just got home from a 12 hour day. Last night the crazy visiting dogs got picked up at 11:30pm so my roommate and I slept in this morning. I got up before she did and watched some TV. I knew I would either be running 10 miles today or hiking. 

After my roommate woke up we chose hiking. We were on the road by 11, this was pretty last minute so we got a very late start.

4 hours later after pooping dogs, stressed out dogs, barking dogs and slow a** drivers, we arrived at the hiking spot.

Only to realize it was the wrong hiking spot. We were in the right area just wrong spot so we drove around for another 10 min until we found it.

And off we went for a walk in the woods!

It was a nice but challenging hike. 1200ish foot elevation gain, mostly in the first 2 miles. 

Artemis likes to run ahead then run back, then run ahead, then run back so she probably did like 12 miles to our 6. I know I kept her well hydrated though cause she peed a lot hahahahaha.

Afterwards back into the car for another 4 hours adventure!!!!

There was traffic of course and we stopped at A&W to get root beer freezes and food. The food is a life choice I am regretting. Also we were seriously in the drive through line for a minimum of 20 min!!!! They were so slow and rude!!!! Bit it was DAMN good food After the hike. I just know my stomach isn’t going to be happy. 

Artemis knocked out until we got to the food then we got back on the road and barked until I rolled the window up while we sat in traffic. Apparently the traffic noises were making it hard for her to sleep because then she credit down and passed back out until we got home. Now she’s passed out in bed. 

The last surprise of the night was a cold shower,  I am guessing our pilot light went out or something. Quick rinse off and I was out. And now it’s time for me to pass out. Goodnight. 

A late morning 

Good morning!!!

Well someone,  ahem Artemis,  woke me up at 3:30am again to go to the bathroom so I slept through my morning run……and my alarm clock, waking up with about 20min max to get out the door to make it to work. But I did it!!!!

It is funny to me that most people today are being grumpy about the rain. 1) we live in the pacific northwest, rain is part of life 2) it has been a few weeks since we had rain 3) not this weekend but next weekend is supposed to be almost 100!! Enjoy the coolness now. 4) it is already clearing up and should be nice the rest of the day and the weekend.

Maybe i am a little biased because I love the rain but it is good for everything and everyone to have a little rain before a hot streak.

That is my morning.

I had packed and planned to go to the gym after work and run and swim but i just got a text from the roommate and the realtor wants to show the house at 7pm tonight and she has  dinner. My plans are more easily movable so moved now they are. I can run at home, i had planned a short tempo run but i can’t swim at home……… hmmm well maybe i will change it so that i swim tomorrow and sunday instead. Such is life, we must be flexible or we will break!!!!

A late morning 

Good morning! Happy Hump day!!!

Artemis woke me up at 3am by jumping on me, she needed to go outside. I am glad she woke me up because she got sick outside. I should say 3am wakeup calls are a non-occurance for her. 

We came back in and went back to sleep. This morning I am going into work late to make sure she is ok. 

My poor little girl. She had a trying 24 hours. I gave her a bath last night  (which she doesn’t enjoy but like a good girl she stands still)

We are watching Gilmore Girls

One of the best shows ever.

We are doing lots of cuddling

I made myself a basic breakfast, oatmeal


And put a small cup of food in Artemis’ bowl, now we will make sure she doesn’t get sick then it’s off to work for me!

I was supposed to run 2-3 miles this morning but that will be moved to after work, hopefully it won’t be too warm, I need to check the weather forecast.

Happy Tuesday!!!!

Today started off good, i hit the gym and had a training session with my trainer. It was hard but didnt kill me, we backed off a bit so that i wouldn’t be soooo sore that i couldnt do anything else hahaha.

Then off to work i went!

So i have a designated bowl at work that i use just for oatmeal that i keep stocked in my drawer, AKA second breakfast.

 

I would say this happens at least 2-3 days a week. I make the oatmeal then fill the bowl with water and let it sit until just before i leave then i wipe it out for tomorrow

Oatmeal turns into cemente if you dont soak the dish or clean it right away.

I have been being good so far this week and bringing fruit for snacks, like this delicious nectarine

I knew I was going to workout twice today and didn’t bring enough food so on my lunch I hit taco bell for some crunchy tacos fresco style 

Later came my delicious 2nd lunch

My slow cooker apricot chicken and rice

After work I headed to the gym for a 30min spin

This is the look on my face when I am tired and forgot a 2nd shirt for my second workout so I put in the stinky still damp shirt from this mornings workout 

Then I headed home quick to see the puppies.

Good Morning!!

Last night was good. I feel like I accomplished a lot. After work I headed to the gym to swim

My meal prepped paid off. I came home and showered to get the chlorine out of my hair and skin then just popped a plate in the microwave and BAM! Yummy dinner

And it’s so simple to make.

Start anywhere between 1-4 cups of rice depending on how much you need. 2 cups got me 4 meals. 

In a saute pan or Dutch oven or anything that is big enough really heat up some olive oil on medium heat. I always add extra olive oil to make a ‘sauce ‘ chop up and onion and throw it in the pan. 

Chop up 2 bell pepper and throw them in with the onions.

Chop up a package of Polish kielbasa sausage and throw that in. 

Add some pepper and garlic powder. 

Cook until meat is heated up and the veggies are cooked to your desired doneness and serve over rice. 

I emptied the dishwasher and started a load of laundry.

I love this little girl so much

Before bed I threw my laundry in the dryer and prepped my clothes for Tuesday AM (I am writing this Monday night)

Sunday Funday

Got up around 7:30 this morning and relaxed. I made a bagel for breakfast 

Got started on my hydration 

And watched a documentary on Netflix about the 2015 crossfit games

While cuddling with my dog

Then it was time to get up and run.

1/3 of the way through 

Artemis made it 4.3 miles, slowly but surely we are adding to her stamina. I need to get her one of those little dog packs so she can carry a little dish and water for her.

Post workout I craved noodles and sodium

Then I finally got up and meal prepped my last meal. Yay for ready food during the week!

Happy Hump day!!!!

Whew it’s been a busy 24 hours! So after sleeping in on Tuesday I ran after work. 

I love new shoes!!! And they were less than  $30 on Amazon!!!!

This morning I got up at the cracks of dawn and met my trainer at the gym and worked out 

Next it was workout shake time

Then I felt like being cute today

Feeling a train like a beast, look like a beauty kind of feeling. 

Tonight after work I went for a quick swim

When I got home Artemis was a little too happy to see me

Currently I am writing this post with you legs up the wall, we’ll door, to reduce the lactic acid in my legs and stretch my back out

Yep that sunburn turned tan line is still there looking like thigh high stocking hahahaha.

Happy 4th of July!!!! 

I had a mostly low key day, I had a training session at 6am then came home and just relaxed all day. 

The puppies and I enjoyed being lazy

I found this Hawaiian punch mix I had bought for the trail and it helped satisfy my sweet craving today! Score!!

The rest of the night was spent watching movies and holding my poor baby when really loud fireworks went off. But now I have 2 fans on in my room and Girl more girls playing and the fireworks are finally starting to slow down…….it’s almost midnight and now she’s calming down and it’s sleep time

 I had planned in going to spin class and then a quick swim before work but that is sooooo not happening now so I guess I’ll go after work instead. 

Monday Motivation**June 27, 2016

Happy Monday!!!!!!
Today was my first day back after my week off. Oy. It wasn’t bad per say but it could have been much better…….of much worse.

I had 5 minutes left to sleep, not a lot in the grand scheme but still 5min. And the dogs, mine and my roommates who I am watching, decided to be load and make noise and wake me up. So I laid back down and gave myself 10 more minutes and ended up getting out the door 15 minutes late so my 3 mile run became a 1.5 mile run.

And somebody here knows the difference between a walk and a run, granted its been like 2 weeks since her bad human, aka me, took her for either so yea but she took a good 10min to figure out that we were running.

The human wasn’t too happy but at least I got out and did something!!!!!

Well see how tomorrow goes!!!
