A little midweek motivation

My day started out with a swim workout

Then I cancelled it out with this sugary but delicious crap. Thank goodness it’s not always available in the vending machine.

I’ve been working on training schedules. Thankfully I have learned that while I work best with a schedule I also have to allow for the flexibility that is necessary in life.

The day ended with Trivia!!! And roommate discussion about what is to come. Now I’m tired and am hitting the hay.

Strength and sickness

So Monday morning I got up and went to my AM strength training and was fine we did have strength training half yoga, it was awesome.

Went to work and was ok until about 10am and I started feeling funky. 2 different bugs have been going around my work. I thought I had warded them off because they had made the rounds through almost everyone but I finally got hit. I went home around 11:30 and spent the rest of the day on the couch watching TV and dozing. I went to bed early and when I work up my stomach was still a little uneasy so I told work I would be in late and caught another few hours sleep. I think I’m on the mend and I am lucky I got it way less severe than anyone else but I still took today off training.

I actually really like it.

OK off to bed for me, I am going to attempt a 6am swim training. Hopefully I will be good to go from here on out.

Rest day Sunday!!!!

I turned off all alarms today and slept it. It was wonderful.

After getting up, I had a protein shake and relaxed. Make eggs for lunch

Did half on toast and half in a breakfast burrito.

I pulled out my yoga video

I did back bends and hip opensers to stretch out after the run.

I spent most of the day on the couch then Artemis and I went to the dog park for a short run around then to the store.

Got a little treat for myself but oh man am I bloated now. Note to self, too many simple carbs.
I think she is a little tuckered out from the park

I’ll be calling it an early night tonight.
6am training tomorrow morning!!

Half Marathon!!

Ran a half marathon today

After the race I hobbled home and had a little ice bath

Then met my aunt and uncle for a delicious lunch!

Happily I had leftovers for a late night snack.

After work I hit the gym for a quick 30 min spin, loosen the legs up a bit for my half marathon tomorrow.

Thankfully it’s a small, laid back race so I’m actually not too nervous which is nice.
I am staying up until the last minute so I can hopefully get to sleep quickly.

Thursday thoughts

Woke up and hit the gym this morning.

Went for a little swim and forgot how to take a decent picture lol

Went to work and had a good day, 2 people were out sick though.

We had rain today which means I get to drive my waterfalls on the way home

It wasn’t raining when I left work though so I thought Artemis and I would go for a little run when I got home, then 2 exits away from home this happens

It starts pouring. Well a mile in the treadmill it is!!!!

I had salad and Gordens beer battered fish fillets for dinner.

Today was cake and ice cream day at work, they got this like 7-8layer fugde choclate cake from Costco.  I had a slice with vanilla ice cream, the first half was heaven, then I started feeling sick and by the end i wanted to puke, it was sooooo rich. Why can’t I ever just say no and throw half away? I need to work on that.

Well off to bed! Light spin and swim in the AM.

Decisions, decisions, what to do?

So either way I think I need to find a new place to live and besides 1-2 leads that aren’t calling me back i cannot afford to live alone in the Portland area and I don’t think I can live with strangers.  This leaves either a significant raise at work or relocating to a new place.

My brother lives in Houston, Texas I looked and found apartment after apartment that would allow me to live comfortably, pay off debt and still have a life, my brother also said that there are jobs a plenty and Craigslist supports this.

My other idea is Indiana near the Kentucky boarder one of my best friends just moved there in November.  Craigslist shows jobs a plenty in the Louisville area and there are more apartments than I can count that I could again live comfortably in, pay off debts and still have a life.

Obviously I could go back to Reno and I have wonderful friends there but I feel like if I move I want to go somewhere new.

Both Texas and Indiana would be huge leaps of faith for me but at least this time I would have friends/family there. Also I want a farm and a husband who wants to farm and to have kids and both those places seem like they might have some men options for that hahahahaha!!!!

On the other hand I have been doing meetup.com and my training and I am finally feeling like socially I am starting to get my sh*t together. I love the women in my book club, though I could use meetup.com in both those new places and true bonds haven’t been formed with these women yet so yea.

Anyone want to give me their advice/thoughts/opinions?

Tuesday.

Well today wasn’t bad. I trained at work so I was bored out of my mind but it was ok.

I did stretch/strength with my trainer this morning that was awesome.

Tonight was book club. I am loving my book club!

The book on the left is what we read, very cute fun read. The horribly wrapped book on the left is a fun idea we did called a book blind date. You wrap a book and write 6 things about it on the cover then we each picked a book.

So I got home and was making a quick dinner while getting all my stuff ready for tomorrow when one of my roommates came home and both roommates have found a place to live. One is moving out by June 1st and the other thankfully will stay until either I find a place or we get kicked out because the place sold.

So now the clock is ticking and I have the impossible task of finding someplace I can afford and still feel safe and comfortable……in other words a unicorn.

If anyone finds an apartment for less than $900/month with less than a 45 min commute to wilsonville and takes dogs. Please let me know.
