Tidbits from the week

Holy crap only 2 more weeks!!!! I am so excited for this quarter to be over, I feel like I am going to be swimming in oceans of time. Next quarter (summer) I am taking medical terminology online so I am going to have so much more time.

Last Saturday my great friend was in town for the quickest of visits, she was here for a funeral, my boyfriend and I met up with her and her friend after work Saturday afternoon. When your friend is in pain and drinking it away and asks you to drink with her, you do. So I did. I don’t drink much and when I do its usually a glass of wine or something (though I will be trying more wine soon but more on that later) but I try in general to limit myself to 1 glass of whatever it is. I wasn’t the best with my limits in college and I don’t ever need to go back to that. Anyways, I ended up drinking 4 cans of Mike’s black cherry hard lemonade, this is how much of a lightweight I am now, I got drunk off 4 cans basically fruity beer hahahaha. We were at a golf course and ended up just staying there so I ate a hot dog. Thankfully I was in bed by 10pm because I had to be up at 5am for work. But those 4 cans were too much for me, I woke up sick at 2:30am and needed to get something in my stomach, I ate a pop tart. I was hung-over the next day, hence the Mexican food on Sunday and Monday. I cannot believe how long it takes to recover from a hangover now!!!! Like the whole week to feel 100% again. Anyways that was my weekend lol.

Monday I relaxed in between classes but Tuesday I got my butt out for a walk and a run. The roommate and I did 1.3 miles walking then I did another 4 miles on the treadmill.

Wednesday the pup and I got out for about 1.5 miles walking in between classes

Thursday I went out for a run and got 3 miles in. This run was quite tumultuous and will do a whole post on it in a few days. Beware for TMI hahaha.

Friday the BF, the pup and I went for a little hike. 9.4 miles. I will do a more in depth review on the hike next week.

This was a pretty big jump in miles for me this week and I am feeling it in my legs and feet. But I am excited, this is how to get back in shape and lose weight!   19.2 miles total for the week between walking, running and hiking.

Weekend Wrap-upĀ 

Let’s see Thursday i had class the hit the gym to train with my friend. After strength training we hit the treadmills, i watched Grey’s Anatomy and ran

I did intervals 

Friday the boyfriend came over, we took Artemis to the dog park the ran some errands. 

We went out to dinner and got Thai food. I got pineapple fried rice and he got pad thai……..they put curry in my pineapple fried rice!!!!! That was so not listed in the ingredients and I am not a big fan of curry, thankfully the boyfriend is and he very gallantly traded dinner with me.  Afterwards we hit the bar for a pre-movie cocktail, this was probably my second drink of the year hahahahaha, I don’t drink much. Then we headed to the movie and saw Fifty Shades Darker. I enjoyed it. 

Saturday I made us chips and dip, a delicious but simple dip my mom always made. Cream cheese on the bottom then mild diced green chilis add chili on top of that and cheese on top of that and bake in the oven at 375-400 until the sides bubble. 

Then we went mini-golfing

He completely decimated me. 

Saturday night we made homemade pizzas

I am also babysitting my roommates dog this weekend, he says hi

Today was relaxing. We met my friend at the park and went for a run

 


I am quite happy, my goal for the week was 9 miles and my weekly total was 10.6!!

That brings my yearly total to 41.6. 

My goal for next week is 12 miles. 

And now it’s study time!!! My midterm is on Tuesday, wish me luck!!!!!

Rest day Sunday!!!!

I turned off all alarms today and slept it. It was wonderful.

After getting up, I had a protein shake and relaxed. Make eggs for lunch

Did half on toast and half in a breakfast burrito.

I pulled out my yoga video

I did back bends and hip opensers to stretch out after the run.

I spent most of the day on the couch then Artemis and I went to the dog park for a short run around then to the store.

Got a little treat for myself but oh man am I bloated now. Note to self, too many simple carbs.
I think she is a little tuckered out from the park

I’ll be calling it an early night tonight.
6am training tomorrow morning!!

Shopping Saturday

Hi!!!

I slept in this morning. Took it easy on my body so it can fight off whatever is now going around.

I met a friend at the mall and we did some shopping. We both did pretty well as far as bang for our buck (suddenly wondering where that saying came from…….)

Got home and took Artemis to the dog park

I didn’t chase her as much as i normally do but she still got a little energy out.

Then i read for a little bit and met  a date for coffee…….oy. Tonight pretty much made me want to give up on dating. I won’t go into all the details but yea. I wonder if i will ever find someone.

I think it might be time to take a little dating break. I’ll keep you posted.

Weekend wrapup

Another weekend gone.

I felt totally fine today no stomach bug symptoms.

I didn’t got to yoga cause truthfully it sucked last week lol. My roommate C went and she said it was better so ill go next week. Artemis and i chilled on the couch and caught up on some TV shows.

After C got back from yoga we took the dogs to the park park and let them run around for about 45 min until they seemed tired. Went i say let them run around i mean half the time i chased or ran from them to get them moving. Both dogs are making progress at being more social and running around without me. Slowly but surely.

After the dog park more tv watching and relaxing. She was tuckered out

In the evening i did my 3rd couch to half marathon workout for this week but didn’t push too hard. My knees were sore. Probably from  pushing last night to PR then running at the dog park this morning. I iced knees while dinner cooked

So while i was running i started listening to season 1 episode 1 or whatever its called of the podcast serial. A bunch of bloggers have talked about it and now i see why. I am hooked!!!! I’ve listened to like 4 episodes tonight!
