This is so my theme right now. Brandon and I have had pizza hut three weeks in a row and my stomach is so over it. It is time for a revamp. Planning is key more than ever for me, I am on day shift now and nobody wants to get up early to make lunch so prep is huge. We are also looking for a HOUSE!!!!!!! Which means some days I am driving the hour towards him to look at houses in our price range then at the end of the night driving back since I have to be at work by 7am so I need to plan, plan, plan. Hopefully in a few short months I will have my own kitchen to work in! I will keep you posted.

Not gonna lie, winter has hit here in Oregon and that means rain, lots and lots of rain and it is cold rain which has seriously deterred me from running this week. I need a working treadmill really bad for Oregon winters. Hopefully we can get one in the new house.

Hope you have a great week!!!!

How are you with winter running?

Mid week run and Artemis’ birthday!!!

So I of course don’t know if it is actually Artemis’ birthday but I got her 2 years ago in November so I picked a day and called it her birthday because I don’t remember the exact day I got her. We went for a 2 mile run and they I harassed her all night.

Check out that best time!!!! It was only for a few seconds but that is my fastest time ever!! That is probably when I ran across the street before the cars came hahahaha!

After my run, I was a little sweaty but it felt good!

Artemis had a ball, but at this point she was really ready to get back home. She has a leash on your just can’t see it with my awesome quality of photography hahahaha.

Back to trying to have some juice in the morning!!!! Carrot apple is my jam!

So I just finished season 5 of Grimm last night (I know I am behind like always) and I go to press play on season 6 (on amazon prime) and it costs money!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!! Seasons 1-5 are included with amazing prime but not season 6. I HATE when they do that! Though I guess it makes sense since it just aired this year. But now I either have to buy an episode here and there or wait and see if it drops for free. I will also check the other TV sites we have like Netflix and Hulu. Fingers crossed.

Do you watch Grimm?

What is your fav show right now?

Has winter hit where you are? How are your workouts fairing if it has?

I have a feeling this winter is going to be very difficult for me training wise if I don’t find a cheap gym. I can run in the cold (I don’t love it but I can) but when its cold AND raining its hard for me to get my butt out the door.

Happy Monday!!!

Since we are talking motivation, how do you motivate yourself?

I was talking to a really great friend yesterday (Hi Amber!!!!) about motivating yourself to work out. She told me she had the couch-2-5k app already on her phone but just needed to use it.

Here are some ways I motivate myself (and boy are these going to come in handy as the temperature drops and the rain moves in here in the Pacific Northwest this winter).

I have talked about motivation before sort of in a reward system way post workout but now lets talk about how to get yourself out there in the first place.

Clothes– If I am running before work I put my workout clothes on as soon as I wake up so that I would actually have to change out of them to get ready to work, who changes out of clean workout clothes? I still get to have a lazy morning but this way I am ready to walk out the door when its time to workout, no excuses. I do the same thing when I get home from work on days I am going to workout after work. I come home and change straight into my workout clothes and walk back out the door. No sitting down or resting or giving myself the opportunity to say I don’t want to do it.

Buddy/partner– Have a workout partner, either someone you run with, check in with or actually training for the same race with (even if you don’t live near each other). Have to check in with someone and either say sorry I am not meeting you today or sorry I didn’t run today…..simply because I didn’t want to, doesn’t feel great and is great motivation to get your but out there.

Blog– Why not start a blog about your fitness journey? It keeps you accountable to an online community. If you do let me know so I can follow you!!!

Book on tape, playlist, TV show- I keep a specific book on audible that I can only listen to while I run (obviously it is something I super want to listen to) this helps motivate me to get out there so I can hear what happens in the book! And I know one of my favorite bloggers HungryRunnerGirl watches “This is Us” while she runs on the treadmill.

Challenge someone– my boyfriend and I have a challenge every month through Garmin to see who can run the most miles. If he gets too far ahead of me it really motivates me to get out there and get some miles in, on the flip side if I am in the lead it motivates me even more to keep going so I can widen the lead!

Talk about motivation did anyone watch the New York marathon yesterday! I didn’t get to watch the whole thing because I was at work but I watched the clips of the male and female winners cross the finish line and MAN what motivation!!! First American female winner in 40 years!! with an unofficial time of 2 HOURS 26 minutes and 53 seconds………….holy crap, that is faster than my half marathon time!!! And the men’s time, top man finished in 2 hours 10 minutes and 53 seconds. Wow.

How do you motivate yourself when you don’t want to work out?

Did anyone watch the whole marathon?

Anybody else really want to sign up for a race now?

I certainly do!!!

Happy Monday!!!!

I will be doing Couch-2-5k Week 2 day 3 today which consists of a 5 min warm up walk then alternating 90 seconds running with 2 minutes of walking for a total of 20 min (which comes out to 6 intervals) then a 5 min cool down. I am really trying to push myself during those 90 seconds, On Saturday my best time was 8:32!! I am pretty stoked about that. I am also doing pretty good at keeping my heart rate up there when I am doing the intervals right now so all is well!!!

This afternoon I have work and have leftover homemade shepherd’s pie for dinner. Not too bad for a Monday.

Back home

I had an amazing time, obviously hahaha, but it is so good to be home. But I am not going to lie it took a few weeks for me to get back into my normal rhythm. Even now I am just starting to get a running regimen back down. And even with taking melatonin and not sleeping on the flight back, it took a good week to get back to a normal sleep pattern.

I am taking all the puppy cuddles I can get. I missed my little girl so much but she did pretty good which is awesome.

I am taking all the cuddles and fun I can get from my man as well. I missed him a lot. I can’t wait to travel with him.

We had a fun fall day of taking a country drive, picked out pumpkins, ate some caramel corn, and carved pumpkins while watching “Pet Cemetery”. Oh and the boyfriend made an AMAZING roast that I have been living on for the past week. Finally finished the last bit for lunch today.

He makes me pretty happy.

Trying to get back to smoothies or juice for breakfast. Been using the bits and pieces that I have to make it all though, I need to get a good grocery shopping trip in soon.

Got my run on. The days right now are pretty nice. I anticipate another run tomorrow.

Using C25k (couch to 5k) to get my butt moving and in the groove again. Fun fact: this is how I started running in the first place! It is a free app, you should try it!!! Thankfully it isn’t as hard this time as it was my first time hahahaha, but now instead of struggling to finish 60 seconds of jogging I am struggling by making myself run a few minutes faster than I normally would so I am still winded by the 3rd interval hahaha and never quite recover completely until the end.

Enjoying the foliage here in Oregon………or should I say the death of the trees. It’s so pretty!!!!!

And yes, I am enjoying my fair share of pumpkin spice coffee!!!!!
