Made the rice
Marinated the beef
Poured it all in a pan
Cooked it up
Then came the veggies
Another delicious meal!!!!!!!
My awesome trainer that i was working with left 24 hour fitness, because she is awesome and has a lot of other things on her plate. Anyways, i took like 3 weeks off from weight training and then ran my half marathon and took a week off, but i knew i needed to get back in the gym and get a new trainer lined up. I still have 10 sessions left on my current personal training plan.
I went in to spin on Tuesday night and the manager was there so i talked to him about setting me up with a new trainer. There was a guy that my trainier had recomended and someone at work knew him and liked him too so i chose him.
Today we had our free intro session, sort of a meet and greet, go over my goals and did a few moves so he could see how my body moved and check my form and all that.
My new trainer has a background in body building,

So we will be going lots of weights, which i am excited about. I just have to make sure i keep on myself about my triathlon and marathon training because i am not sure he will. We will see how that goes.
I will keep you posted!!!!!
Happy Wednesday!!!!!
I got a Hello Fresh box for the first time…….and last time because once I move to my new apt my current bills will exceed my current income, so I have to cut back on my fun stuff and start living cheap for awhile.
But until that point l, let’s get cooking!!!!!
I like that they put the ingredients in each meals little box.
I boiled sweet potatoes
And roasted some broccolirabb (I can’t spell)
Seared the chicken
After that I cooked shallots and made a gravy
Mashed the potatoes
And put it all together for a delicious meal!!!!!
This is my last stitchfix for a little while 😦 My rent is increasing so my budget is severly decreasing. I will now only get stitches every other month. C’est la vie.
My sad last fix until late August.
Of the 5 items I kept 1. Can you guess which one?
Cargo jacket, I love the detailing on the sleeve and back.
Stripped dress, I like the detailing at the bottom
Love the color and the style of the jacket
Love the maxi dress, the length, comfort and the design of the back
A romper! I like the pattern and the frill on the collar.
So, what did I keep?
Happy Monday!!!!!!
Today was my first day back after my week off. Oy. It wasn’t bad per say but it could have been much better…….of much worse.
I had 5 minutes left to sleep, not a lot in the grand scheme but still 5min. And the dogs, mine and my roommates who I am watching, decided to be load and make noise and wake me up. So I laid back down and gave myself 10 more minutes and ended up getting out the door 15 minutes late so my 3 mile run became a 1.5 mile run.
And somebody here knows the difference between a walk and a run, granted its been like 2 weeks since her bad human, aka me, took her for either so yea but she took a good 10min to figure out that we were running.
The human wasn’t too happy but at least I got out and did something!!!!!
Well see how tomorrow goes!!!
Do you run with a dog?
Do they ever not want to run?
Happy Wednesday!!!!!
I have decided to take the entire week off from working out. I realized I have been ‘training’ since like August when I signed up with my trainer and I have definetly loved it but I am a bit burned out. I need the week break from working out to relax so I can recommit for the next big push, my triathlon and my marathon.
I have been and will be doing a lot of laying
A lot of TV watching
And a lot of reading and of course a lot of hydrating.
I am also letting myself eat anything I want and not feel guilty about it this week or worry about how it will affect my training.
I am already excited to get back to it next week but I really needed this break.
Do you take breaks?
How long are they?
And how often do you take them?
This is my 2nd rock and roll event and I wasn’t disappointed. The atmosphere was upbeat and fun.
The medal is awesome.
The Expo was very well put together and had a lot of great companies show up and lots of great samples to try.
I wish they got us across the start line at little quicker but otherwise all pre-race things were well organized.
Every mile-ish there is a band to pump you up and cheerleaders along the way.
Every about 1.8 miles there were water and/or Gatorade stations.
There were energy chews around mile 8 and a Glucose drink around mile 9.5. I do wish these were more spread out, like maybe mile 6 and miles 9.5.
Rock and Roll had enough volunteers to make everything run very smoothly.
Both of my rock and roll experiences have been positive and I am looking forward to my next one!!
Saturday morning we got up super early, about 4:40 and were out the door by about 5:15. Thankfully since the solstice is so close the sun was starting to rise so we had a little light. We hopped on the bus and head into downtown. Every few stops another runner got on the bus lol. We got there just after six and walked about 2 blocks to the space needle where the start line was. We did all the normal stuff, drank some water, bag drop all that. I was able to get down most of my protien shake and a few bites of a blueberry muffin then nerves got the best of me and I wasn’t hungry.
I made my way to my Corral, which was waaaaaaay back from the start lol
The start was delayed 15 min so the first wave went at 7:15……..I crossed the start line at about 8:05 lol.
Yea it was a big race lol. I waited so long that my nerves dissipated and hunger struck. Thankfully my mom had most of our stuff with her so I had the snacks I had bought at the Expo the day before.
This was my first time eating one of the waffles and it was DAMN good. I am so stoked I bought this.
So I crossed the start line and was doing awesome! My PR is 2:57 and I was on track for a 2:45 finish. I hit mile 6 still on pace feeling pretty good
Mile 8 was the last mile I hit on that target time
Then I started hurting and miles went from about 12:30 to 15:00-16:00.
Mile 9 was the Blue Mile, honoring our fallen service men and women. It was very moving and I refused to walk during the about quarter mile that people were holding the flag up.
After that I walked most of mile 10 but ran most of mile 13 which thank goodness was mostly downhill. And of course I picked up speed the last .2 miles.
My medal!!!! I earned this one lol. Every step from mile 9 on was painful.
Mom and I relaxed at Starbucks for a bit and I sponged off in the bathroom and changed clothes lol. My step dad met us and we got lunch then they dropped me off at Amtrack and I was able to get on a train about 3.5hours earlier than I had planned which was super awesome!
I got home about 7:30pm instead of midnight.
So that was my weekend! Sunday I happily did nothing but sit on my butt.
I’ll review the race tomorrow.
Up early Friday morning to catch a cab to the nearby town center. There I took the transit system
To Portland Union Station
Which is actually pretty nice. At least the building is lol the surrounding area not as much.
The breakfast of champions.
The lunch of a desperate person lol
A microwaved hot dog.
My mom met me at the Amtrack station in Seattle. Just next door is the Seahawk stadium
Where the health and fitness expo is.
I got a bag full of samples and swag from the Expo.
After the Expo mom and I got a light lunch then took a taxi to our Air B&B accommodations.
We had some fun mishaps trying to take a bus to find some food
After 2 buses and probably a mile and a half of walking we settled on the next restaurant we walked in front of…..I know GASP, eating someplace unknown the night before a big race, thankfully it all workout ok.
I went with the simplest thing possible.
After dinner we headed back, got everything ready for my race the next morning and passed out.
