Saturday happenings

Day 1 of a very exhausting 7 weeks.

Except for the 3 days i have races i will be working Saturday and Sunday for the next 7 weeks at a tulip festival. I am working 7 hours a day along with my normal 40 hour/week job and my training.

Today was my first day at the festival. 7 hours on my feet which is not something i have done in a very long time. It is fun and doesn’t really feel like work which is nice but man is hard on the body until you get used to it.

They have booths and rides and obviously tulips and u-pick fields and all kinds of stuff.

I tried to pack a lunch but ate it as a snack so i got a garden burger for my lunch.

My feet were already crazy sore when i got home and my body was exhausted but i needed to run and i knew if i sat down i wasn’t getting back up. So i had a quick snack and Artemis and I set out for a run. My goal was 6 miles but by 2 miles my feet were alternating between feeling like they were on fire and sharp pain so we headed home. My 6 mile run became a 2.5 mile run.

I am very thankful that i have the ability to stop myself so i can recover and not seriously injure myself. I have so many races planned this year i will not let pride or stupidity get in my way.

While icing my food i checked outbmy first bulu box.

And now i am going to eat something, pack my bag for tomorrow, maybe read if i can keep my eyes open and then pass out!

Happy Friday!!!!! I am going to try and keep this short because i took the other dream water that i bought earlier in the week and its kicking in.

Most of work was good today. The department i work in had a little pot luck for belated St. Patty’s day.

We had 2 delicious soups, both vegetarian :mrgreen: and some delicious gluten free dairy free corn bread with vegan honey butter.

My contribution was veggies and fruit.

Another coworker brought fruit and donut holes……i may have  had a few too many of those lol. I snacked all day.

I had some surprises waiting for me at home, well not really suprises since i ordered them lol.

My Road ID came!!! It’s basically an ID bracelet witn emergency contact information and relevant information for emergency responders. Since i dont have a training parter i figured it was time to be responsible. There is even room for a fun saying!
Mine says: Beast mode, you got this.
Lol!!!!

My triathlon shorts came!!! Cant wait to run in them this weekend amd bike in them on Tuesday! I ordered a top too but it was a bit snug so i am going to return it and go up a size.

I enjoyed some ‘ you’ve got mail’ tonight. Such a cute movie. And yes the TV in my room is a million years old lol. But it works so I’m good.

I went with some simple top ramen for dinner. And now its sleep time.

Dual workout and barkbox

Woke up at 3:30 this morning!!!!! Though i laid in bed and played on my phone and cuddled with the dog until 4. Hit the gym and did 20 min the water.

I knew it was going to be a hard day when i rolled out of bed this morning  and was sore all over from training and running yesterday.

My waterbottle was at that point where it was starting to get gross so i broke down and out it in the dish washer. Bought gatorade at the gym

I tried to be good and not go overboard. The first half was delicous then i started feeling horrible but eat these kinds of sweets so infrequently that i forced myself to finish it and felt bloated and gross for like 2 hours. Old habits die hard.

My new vitamins arrived. I track my food in myfitnesspal and one of the things it has shown me is that i never hit my daily calcium goal so i will start taking these a few days a week to combat that a bit.

It is always interesting to see what Artemis is going to like toy wise and what she is going to ignore. Anything Artemis doesn’t want Jasper, my roommates dog, will eventually adopt as his own.

I am feeling a little lonely tonight. I miss having a boyfriend, i miss having my girls around for dinner dates and coffee dates. I am doing a lot better with my  breakup and getting back out there but some nights i still get really sad and lonely. Mostly when i disappointed by the state of men and dating today and get depressed that I’ll never find someone.
This too shall pass.

Hump day!

Got up and hit the gym this morning for strength training. Yes i slept good last night. Thank goodness!!!
No auntie tina it’s not the coffee lol. I’m drinking less than i ever have.

The gym was hard but awesome. I’ve lost another lbs!! Woohoo. I can feel the muscles developing and i am loving my body and starting to feel soooo good!.

My gym bag and blender bottle are pretty much a constant in my car these days hahaha.

I went grocery shopping when i was hungry and got Gardettos or whatever that snack is so i limited my portions.

Lunch was tomato, basil, and mozzarella on this delicious bread from the bakery at Fred Meyers. I also got some aged smoked cheddar YUM!!!!

There was still sun when i got home so Artemis and i went for a little walk run

Had the second half of my leftover salmon for dinner

And now its off to bed so i can hit the  gym even earlier than normal because my trainer instructed me to swim AND spin before work.

How do insomniacs survive?

Hola!!!!!

It is Tuesday night and  i am about to crawl into bed for hopefully a knockout sleep. I took this

About 15 min ago so fingers crossed.

The last two nights it has taken me 3-4 hours to fall asleep and i toss and turn all night. This is not normal for me, normal for me is knocking out within about 20 min and sleeping the whole night through. Occasionally i wake up or  toss and turn a bit but not like this.

This means i haven’t worked out since my run on Sunday and i have slept in both mornings.
Coffee has been a big part of my day

That is really all there is to report. Hopefully this dream water will kick in and i can get a good night’s sleep and workout in the AM.

Weekend Wrapup

Noooooooo!!!!! It’s sunday night again.
Back to the grind we go.

Yesterday i hit the pool for a little 30min workout.

Then in the afternoon it was off to an orientation meeting because i will be working weeknds at a festival up here at the farm my roommate works out for the next 7 weeks. Except the 3 days i have races.

Dinner was the delicious Salmon and veggies i had made Friday night with a southwest salad.

And i watched Kiss The girls since i finished the book.

Sunday it was long run day. 5 miles

I taped my knees to be safe since they were sore at the end of the week.

I took the dog out running with me. We only got about half a mile until the drizzle started to pour then turned into hail. She didnt like that too much so we turned around and brought her
back home.

Then i went back out and braved the  elements to run 5 more miles. It misted, rained, poured and hailed. It was in interesting run lol.

Book Review**Along Came a Spider

I finally jumped on the Alex Cross bandwagon, like 20 years after everyone else but i do tend to come late to the party. I enjoyed the book, it was a good read. I have definitely read better suspense/crime/murder mystery books but it wasn’t bad.
I also watched the movie and man does it not do the books justice. Sorry Morgan Freeman but not your best choice.

Has anyone else read the Alex Cross books?
I am now on book 3.

I will continue to read my way slowly through the series and in between other books but i don’t think I’ll be biting my nails in suspense of what comes next.

And beware some scenes in these books you can never unsee in your head.

Iced my knee tonight. Tomorrow i swim and hopefully by Sunday I’m ready to run again. I think I’ll tape my knee up to be safe.

That and several episodes of Scandal were my Friday night……i know, i party too hard.

What does your weekend look like?

Short and to the point.

I dragged my butt out of bed and to the gym this morning to go to spin class. I got there is 6 min late (i am usually nerd early everywhere but an AM workout, forget about it). So i get there and am hoping the class won’t be too full, they hadn’t even started yet. I’m adjusting my bike thinking how lucky i am  only to here the gym worker telling the other 5 people in the class that there is no instructor this morning……….so now what?

2 of the people left but the rest of us rode on!!!!!! Slowly as the hour went on people trickled out. I made it about 50 min.

I am proud of myself for not using thr excuse of no class to get me out of my workout.

On the flip side my knees are super achey! This is the first time i have ever worked out this much and this consistently and my body is like WTF?

So tonight i iced my knees and will be taking it easy. Tomorrow is my rest day anyways and Saturday instead of spin amd swim I’m just going to swim. Hopefully ill be able to do my 5 miles on Sunday. Fingers crossed!

I may have gone a little overboard with my dinner tonight…..
