Beach Getaway

Along with a crappy start to the week I had a great time at the beach with a great guy.

It was perfect Oregon coast weather.

We had pizza, coffee, and relaxed and watched movies. Cuddled by an awesome wood stove

Artemis loved the beach but hated the house she didn’t know

Along with all the food and cuddling we also walked/ran up a giant san dune two days in a row

Artemis loved running around

We ran up and down the beach both days as well and did some exploring.

Have you been to the Oregon coast?

Wednesday wonderings

Happy Hump Day!!!!

Well my run at lunch didnt happen. I went to the bathroom to change and low and behold i had forgotten a sports bra, now I have DDs so a sports bra is a must. So there was a change of plan, i sat back down at my desk and proceeded to spill my lunch  (chili) on my pants.

After eating i went out to my car, rolled my windows down, laid my seat back and listened to a book on tape for 30 min. It was soooo beautiful i didnt want to go back into work, but i did. Sometimes it sucks to be an adult lol.

Anyways i came home and changed to go out for my 3rd attempt at a run today

It was perfect weather outside

There is a nice little path not too far from my house

Check out all the cookies in my cookies and creme protien powder

Then it was dinner time, i am in between paychecks so that means im broke and living off leftovers and things i already had in the freezer/pantry. Tonight was a feeezer meal

Fish fillets and onion rings.

Tomorrows lunch is leftover turkey and veggie stew that i froze a few months ago. Thankfully i made a vat of it lol.

While dinner was cooking and after i got some chores done around the house so i am going to fall asleep tonight feelijg very accomplished lol

How was your Wednesday?

Does anyone else scrape by with odds and ends to eat until payday?

Marmot pass day 1

We were out the door by about 7:30 and hit McDonald’s for a high calorie breakfast. Both dogs were excited but unsure what was going on as well.

The roommates little dog dog got too excited/nervous and barfed a little. So our start was cleaning

Then we were off on the 6 hours drive!

It took us about 5 hours to get to the area then another hour to go the 15 miles on dirt/gravel/pot whole road to the trailhead.

And we are off!!!!

The first 3.5 miles of the trail were beautiful!!

Had nice rolling hills and crossed the water several times.

There were some interesting water crossings

Artemis was a little hesitant of the flowing water in the beginning then she got a little more comfortable

We had some fun kookie moments

So after those nice 3.5 miles we took a little break, had some pop tarts and snacks, love trail food, and drank some water and Gatorade. Poor Carra got stung by a bee. Then we headed out to do another 3.5 miles to the top……except these 3.5 miles were straight up! 1500 feet in about 2.5 miles.

I was pretty slow on the uphill so she would stop and wait for me to catch up. She is sooooo freaking cute and sweet!!! Or she would turn around and come find me.

I was dying a little.

I stopped and took a break about 1 mile from out stopping point because the direction milage was a little off and I was dying!!

These block got me through the last mile.

She settled in behind me for a little rest behind me

We slugged it the last mile and settled in.

Got our tent set up

Nice little view from out campsite

Can you find Artemis?

Someone passed out really quickly

We ate, listened to a little bit of a book on tape and tried to sleep

It was a loooong night. I finally dozed off around 9:30 then at 10:30 Artemis got up from our feet where she at been sleeping and bounded up toward me shaking. The poor thing was freezing. I got her halfway in my sleeping bag and cuddled up. She warmed up and I turned my sleeping bag into a blanket for us. She warmed up got comfy and fell asleep. But every hour or 2 either she would wake up and move around or part of my arm would go numb cause I was laying funky trying to keep her warm. Needless to say I didn’t sleep well. Of course once I was awake it took me another hour to fall back asleep.

I got 4-5 hours of sleep.

But overall it was a good day.

Book on Tape review

Yep this is the series True Blood is based on.

I have watched the entire series. I was through i think the 4th or 5th season of the TV showe before i ever knew there was a book series. This is book one, I got it during a sale on, you guessed it, Audible.

I enjoyed the book, i was supprised at how closely season 1 followed the book. There were of course differences, one major one is that Tara is not in the books, which for me was awesome because her character in the TV show was always pissing me off!

This was a fun read, easy to engage in while running or work or driving, doesnt take a lot of focus. I would suggest it for anyone who liked the show or enjoys this kind of genre.

How are your workouts going this week?

I ran Tuesday and Wednesday morning, this morning i slept in so i will be dragging my butt to the gym tonight to do some weights. My goal is to get in, do some weights and get out. I want to be quick and efficient. I need to get some leg workouts in and some arm workouts. I am not too worried about my abs because that tones as i run and do all the other stuff.

I miss weighted squats!!! Who would have thought?! Moving has thrown my whole schedule off so i am trying to get a new schedule set. Also i am dating someone so that is taking up some time. Got to balance the life!

Also i really need to find my book to study so i can start working on my personal training certification. Unpacking will be a serious theme this weekend.

Now send me some strong will to only have 1 scoop of the ice cream that will be served and work today.

This book was super fun because she has such a GREAT attitude and wit. She is funny! And of course i love listening to almost anything in an accident. You also get to hear from her trainer and his perspective and at the end she has a section where other people she has run with tell their stories.

It was good, fun, light hearted and great to listen to when running. Listening to her talk about her parts jiggling when she ran, while I ran was awesome. It is great to know that other people out there are also not perfect when they run.

Excuses, Excuses

Excuses, Excuses is right! All i have had lately are exucses.

I have not worked out since THURSDAY!!! That is 4 days! Thankfully i am meeting a client tonight to do some cardio with so i can snap myself out of this funk. I need get my butt back into gear.

This is why you are never supposed to go more than 2 days in a row without working out, you fall into a no workout funk…….or maybe that is just me.

My excuses have been that my dog wants to cuddle (which is amazing, puppy cuddles are the best), that i just plain dont want to get out an run today, that i trained someone (thats counts as a workout right?) Etc, Etc.

I am going to use you guys to keep me honest for the next week, if you dont see a workout on this blog feel free to CALL ME OUT!

Mid-Week Motivation!!

We are almost at Friday! Hold on and we can do it!!

Motivation has been short for me lately so i have had to push myself and bargin and make deals with myself to get me to workout. Which is really funny that i have come to a place in my life where cutting my long run short on Sunday, not working out on Monday, only working out once Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and having no plans to workout Friday is a bad week for me. I’m actually kind of proud of that.

I have definitely changed my lifestyle for this.

Have you?
