Here is what i got

And lots of baby potatoes! 

I made a gourmet grilled cheese for lunch

Sourdough bread with Provalone cheese 

Cheddar cheese

Watercress

Apple

And a little extra flavor

It fell apart a little while cooking but was delicious!!!!!

I had some potato and roasted leek soup on the side. 

Artemis got a clean bill of health from the vet, she had her yearly checkup. 

And i took my biology final today, i feel good about it so fingers crossed. 

And now its time for me to wind down because i need to be up at the crack of dawn. Goodnight!

Weekend Wrap-up 

Let’s see Thursday i had class the hit the gym to train with my friend. After strength training we hit the treadmills, i watched Grey’s Anatomy and ran

I did intervals 

Friday the boyfriend came over, we took Artemis to the dog park the ran some errands. 

We went out to dinner and got Thai food. I got pineapple fried rice and he got pad thai……..they put curry in my pineapple fried rice!!!!! That was so not listed in the ingredients and I am not a big fan of curry, thankfully the boyfriend is and he very gallantly traded dinner with me.  Afterwards we hit the bar for a pre-movie cocktail, this was probably my second drink of the year hahahahaha, I don’t drink much. Then we headed to the movie and saw Fifty Shades Darker. I enjoyed it. 

Saturday I made us chips and dip, a delicious but simple dip my mom always made. Cream cheese on the bottom then mild diced green chilis add chili on top of that and cheese on top of that and bake in the oven at 375-400 until the sides bubble. 

Then we went mini-golfing

He completely decimated me. 

Saturday night we made homemade pizzas

I am also babysitting my roommates dog this weekend, he says hi

Today was relaxing. We met my friend at the park and went for a run

 


I am quite happy, my goal for the week was 9 miles and my weekly total was 10.6!!

That brings my yearly total to 41.6. 

My goal for next week is 12 miles. 

And now it’s study time!!! My midterm is on Tuesday, wish me luck!!!!!

Good morning!!! Happy Friday!!!

As i write this I am sitting here drinking my coffee out of the mug my man made me and eating a bagel

And of course catching up on last night’s Grey’s Anatomy

This morning i did a little AM yoga 

This was basic beginner yoga and it hurt. I know it’s morning so I’m stiff from sleeping but it has also been a while since I’ve done yoga, time to get back to it!!!!

Last night was my 3rd day in a row of running.

Thankfully my partner got to the gym early and I had to stop so we could pump some iron. I was definitely fatigued last night. 

After a long workout I got my splurge meal

Why does crappy crappy fast food have to taste so good?

Before the gym I had class yesterday, it went well, then I had an interview for an on call part time position. They are going to schedule a 2nd interview so fingers crossed.

A difficult but productive run

Let’s start with earlier today, i had class and lab this morning. In between class and lab I did some HW and went old school on my snack PB&J

Lab today was cool

Our setup looked super complicated. 

When I got home I was desperate for a snack 

Wheat thins and laughing cow cheese. 

Took Artemis for a walk. 

Got back and had lunch

Grilled cheese and an orange. I realized that it had been waaaay too long simce i had an orange, it was delicious. 

I worked on my lab report that is due Thursday then met my friend at the gym at 8. We did strength training for about 45 minutes then ran on the treadmill for 45 minutes 

Running on tired legs is really hard!! This was my first time doing it. But I feel very accomplished. 

I came home and ate my weight in pasta

And now I am super exhausted. Sleep time for me.

Weekend Wrap-up 

Howdy! 

Friday the boyfriend and I thought we would go for a little hike. We picked a spot, got some snacks, and packed up the dog. I was excited for a fun hike, our first one together!! We get there and start walking up the trail and……….it’s almost all ice

This might not have a been problem if my shoes had better traction, if i wasn’t clumsy, and if the below dog didn’t like to run into me at full speed ans knock me over

I turned us around pretty quickly, so our hike eneded up being a grand total of .75 miles. 

We picked up a pizza Friday night. 

Another yummy pizza. Peperoni, sausage, onions and peppers. 

Saturday we mostly relaxed, I got a delicious root beer float from A&W!!! Yumm, i hadn’t had one since September 

Sunday was a study and read day for me

Got my HW done

Watched some old episodes of amazing race

Then decided I felt like reading

I had some company…….though my company kept passing some nasty gas

And i enjoyed a bottle of hard cider to go with it!

And now I’m tired and want sleep.

Adaptability 

Well my running Bones date didn’t go quite as planned. I got to the gym…..and none of the TV’s were set to Fox!!! Tragedy, ok a first world tragedy, but still arg. I still ran but not as well or as long as I would have if I had the distraction of Bones. 

Wednesday was an all study day.

Thursday was class and lab. They went well. In between class and lab I have about a 90 min break so I usually do some HW and snack, I’m finally getting my school routine down and brought a snack so I only bought a soda

Naan bread and hummus.

Just hanging out between classes.

When I got home I took Artemis for a walk

Something about this tree must have smelled amazing because we were there for like 3 minutes. My goal was to run after class but I didn’t feel 100% so I took Artemis for a walk then did a few errands then studied. After I laid down for a little nap. I was meeting my gym partner at 6:30pm for strength training and after my nap I got my butt up off the couch and went to the gym early to get my run in. 

She always makes me feel so bad when I leave!!!! She is so dang cute!!!

My run felt really good!!!

Out of 44 minutes I only walked about i of it. 

Slowly building back up. Then the boyfriend came over and picked up Taco for us. My splurge TGIT dinner! 

I was so hungry i only got a blurry picture before i wolfed it down 

Of course I didn’t actually watch my TGIT shows since the boyfriend came and they are not his kind of shows so I’ll be watching the later on demand.  Here’s to a great weekend!!!

First, ok sort of second, step to physical therapy school!!!

The first step was enrolling in my first prerequisite class. 

I’ve been making extra large batches of food on the weekends to live off during the week and supplementing with snacks and things I have put in the freezer in the past few months. 

Nice leftovers though huh?

Ugh and the boyfriend has gotten me stuck on these

I am trying really hard to only drink them on the weekends though, fake sugar is not good for you. 

I passed my personal training certification exam yesterday!!!!! Woot woot! Now comes the question, how do I want to use it? I haven’t quite figured that out yet. 

After the exhaustive exam I got an hour of HW done then headed to the gym to workout with a friend. After the gym it was HW time, I buckled down and got HW done at a reasonable hour and again had a cuddle buddy.

Of course I’m rocking some Veronica Mars in the background! 

Today I had biology class and lab, once again I felt like I really had my stuff together. I love that feeling.

After class I came home And took Artemis for a walk

Now for the PT school stuff
I can already tell trying to get these hours done is going to be difficult, at least until I get some contacts in the industry. 

I’ve called 6 places so far. 1 is going to hopefully call me back. The receptionist wasn’t sure if the physical therapist did observation hours or not (it was a complete rehab place with a bunch of different services) I left a message with her and hopefully the physical therapist will call me back. 
The 2nd place also took a message but has gotten back to me. They are a smaller place and are not accepting  any volunteers right now.
The 3rd said I needed to apply online in their job area. I looked in the education/training area but nothing so far so I am still working on that
The 4th is a hospital so my fingers are crossed on that hoping there are more opportunities, they also took a message so I’m waiting on that call.
The 5th one also took a message and will hopefully call me back. 

Success!!! Sort of. The last of the 6 places I called today is emailing me information on their volunteer program for physical therapy. Fingers crossed!!!!!!
I’ll let you know how it goes. 

Tonight I have another date with Bones at the gym!!!

A really good day

Buenos Nochas!!!! 

Today was a really good day but we’ll start off with yesterday. 

Yesterday was spent doing biology work all day. I had two biology lecture classes and two labs cancelled due to the college being shut down for inclement weather so we were assigned lots of work to do. 

I was burned out by 9:30pm. I was working on my last assignment and got to the last question and low and behold I have to make a visual aid!!! It’s 10:30pm andy class is at 8am. Thankfully the Rite Aid down the street was open until 11am. So out I went, picked up some poster board and something to help me get through the next 2 hours

Thank goodness for 24 hour starbucks!!!

Also food was needed

Frozen burritos for the win. 

Anyways i got everything done and was in bed by 1am. 

In class this morning I had everything I needed which was awesome and felt great about the class and the information I absorbed. 

In betweem class and lab I did some classwork and had a snack

I had to hit the student store for snacks because I woke up late due to being up late from doing HW but it all worked out. Lab went awesome as well and I left school feeling amazing!!! I finally feel like it’s all gonna work out and this is what I should be doing. 

After school Artemis and I went out for a little run, it was 50 degrees outside and except for a little wind it was perfect running weather!!

There were a few spots that still had a little ice

But on the plus the path was pretty much deserted so I got to let Artemis off the leash a bit and she of course ran around in the mud.

She got some mud on her and then gave me a hug

It was a good run

After my run I scheduled my personal training certification exam for Monday!! Ahhhh!!!

I got some biology hw done then headed out and got some dinner. It was supposed to be TGIT tonight  (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder) but if course it got pushed to next week so instead I still got a bad (but unfortunately delicious ) dinner and spent the night reading the blog of a physical therapist student. 

I spent a little over 3 hours reading the blog from beginning to now and loved it!!!!

I had movie on in the background and had a cuddle bug next to me

It has been a great day.

A successful running date!!

Howdy all!!! 

3 weeks ago i didn’t make it to the gym on a Tuesday until about 9pm and BAM! There was the TV show Bones on. I started watching Bones 12 years ago with my dad. I stopped watching it regularly about 2 years ago; lack of cable, life, etc got in the way. I had stared watching it again on Netflix a few weeks ago them BAM there was the current season. I watched about 30-40 minutes of it then was done with my workout. I had done the miles I had planned. Then i decided, what a great idea, each week I’ll head to the gym and have a little running date with Bones. As far as I’m concerned from 9-10pm it’s just me and Bones in that gym. And it gets me running for a solid hour, ok it gets me doing intervals of running and walking lol. 

Post run date tonight.

I tried to start last week but the weather had other plans. Thankfully tonight we had rain instead of snow.

I only got 3 miles in but that is the most I’ve run in awhile. And I’m very happy with it. From here it just goes up. 

The pace is not great but that is ok cause i had a great night hahaha

In other news I had a delicious salad for lunch. 

Got Artemis some new food to try. She is still loving romping around in what snow is left. 

And the BF and I went to Color Me Mine for a totally cheesy date and made each other coffee mugs……but it was kind kf awesome and romantic too hahahahaha. 

And I leave you with the current book on tape I am listening to.

Howdy!!! How is your day going?

It’s snow all around over here

It started last night I am guessing somewhere around 6:30-7pm. I looked out around 6 and it was raining then I stepped outside at 8:45 to drive to the gym and this was what I saw

Still i had a workout to get to. I drove to the gym with little incident until the street the gym was on I almost got stuck. But I was there and my plan was to watch Bones while I ran……but it was snowing so heavy the TV’s were out, that made me pause. I was there so I busted out a mile on the treadmill then hightailed it out of there because I knew the longer i waited the more difficult it would be to get home. 

I slipped and slid and got stuck once or twice but I kept my cool (thank you Nevada for teaching me how to drive in the snow in a small sedan hahahhaha)

I got home and let her run a bit, she loves the snow until she stops running and she gets cold

Then it was pasta time!

And a relaxing movie before bed

When i woke up, it was STILL SNOWING! 

It was beautiful outside…..until i realized i had no cream for coffee…..how do i study without coffee???!!! The snow had stopped coming down so i walked the 1.5 miles round trip to the store. That was my workout for today lol. I definitely worked up a sweat, walking through inches of snow is a workout.

Artemis romped around in the snow a bit when i got back from the store and now she’s passed out hahaha!!

Dinner tonight is a delicious turkey stew i made a few months ago and threw some extra in the freezer.
