My week/weekend.

On Monday i rocked my race t-shirt.

Ate lots of things i shouldn’t.

image

Enjoyed my frittatas i made with salsa on them.

Book Review**And Then There Were None

Happy Saturday!!!

This is my first Agatha Christie novel!
It was originally published under the name Ten Little Indians.

This is a true good old fashion who dun it, there is little to no gore, no romance, no sex, just plain set em up and knock em down. I think a lot of people my age and younger wont like it for its simplicity and slow build but it most definitely will not be my last Agatha Christie novel. I finished the book at about 10:30 at night, the book kept me guessing about the killer the whole way through and i admit i was a little paranoid about my sliding door being open before i finished it and found out the killer hahahahaha.

The only downfall was that my book had one of those unique printing errors.

image

I dont know if you can see it but my book goes from page 178 to page 83. A chunk of my book repeated itself so i missed about 25 pages and 2 murders lol.
Overall i enjoyed the book and never saw the killer coming. She’s not referred to as the queen of mystery for nothing!

Have you ever read an Agatha Christie novel? If so, which one and what did you think of it?

5k Race Review

Hi!!!!!

So on Saturday i ran the Shoc 5K to support ovarian cancer research.

image

We started and ended at the Gladstone Harley dealer! Thank you Harley Davidson!

image

The route was really nice, went through some foresty, shaded areas.

There were 2 water stations on the 5k which was really nice but i wish they had spread them farther apart, i was dying for 2 miles then got two water stations in the last mile.

Other than that i liked it.

image

We got breakfast afterwards! Pancakes, eggs and sausage. There were also bagels and bananas and coffee and water.

image

Crossing the finish line!!! I ran it in 44:46, which was a 14:28/mile average. That is by no means fast but i am happy with it.
I really liked that not long after i crossed the finish line i got text telling me my time. That was awesome!
Also got an email with a finishers certificate. Personally i reallt liked that.

I’ll be rocking my race shirt at work on Monday 😄

Overall i enjoyed the race, i could tell it was a little bit of a lower budget/smaller operation but i still really enjoyed it. I think I’ll be back next year!!!

Oooh and i got one of the sponsors to evaluate my running gait and tell me i had good shoes for my running! Yay!!!

My weekend

I had a good weekend!

Friday night i finished season 6 of True Blood and hit the hay early.
Saturday morning i got up early becasue i had my 5k race to run!

image

I’ll review the race for you tomorrow.
My awesome roommate C, came and cheered me on at my race!

The rest of Saturday was spent relaxing and watching the Amazing race until i got tired of it and switched the Long way Round hahahahaha!

I made frittatas for the week while watching TV

image

They exploded a little bit while cooking but still taste good!!!!

image

I put 4 in the freezer to pull out during the week and left 2 in the fridge for Monday.

Sunday i again got up early, C and i picked up B and met J to go hiking!!! (I sound like an episode of gossip girl hahahahaha) .

image

We got a delicious breakfast first then went on a hike that was only like a mile total lol but it was crazy beautiful and crazy to get to. You had to climb a wall of trees and wade through some pools.

image

image

Yea we climbed that.  It was fun, we felt very bad ass and adventurous.

image

The views were insane!!!! No i didnt take this picture, i got it on google.

image

Obviously we took this one lol

image

It was freezing!!! But so fun!

image

It was definitely worth it but very crowded which suprised me. People had their dogs and kids and people were in jeans and stuff. The tree climbing was intense.

Got some food at food carts, came home and relaxed a little then went to see the new mission impossible with my roommates. Whew!!! Active weekend! But so much fun!!!

Last week

Oh man! Last week was crazy!!!! 3-4 of my 5 days at work were insane!!!! My workload felt like it doubled, i definitely felt frazzled a lot.

I drank a lot of Starbucks

image

And not the low calorie ones lol.
I didnt make the best food choices either. Friday i went to Carl’s JR/Green burrito for lunch

image

I ate way too much lol.

Thursday night i had a coffee date that i enjoyed. I think there will be a second date 😄

I watched season 6 of True Blood.
And it was another week of HOT HOT HOT days.
Clocking out friday night was the best feeling!!!!

Book Review****Moutain Rescue Doctor

Happy Saturday!!

51kPvN+eb-L

Hope your weekend is going well!

I found this book super interesting! It’s non-fiction, written by an actual mountain rescue doctor. He covers a few rescue stories from each season of the year, spring, summer, fall and winter.

It is not a difficult read and he doesn’t go into gruesome detail which was nice.

I like that he tells a little bit about his life and schedule and what it is like to be a mountain rescue doctor and not just about the rescues.

I would highly recommend this book to any outdoor enthusiast but i think home bodies would like it just as much.

If you read it let me know what you think!

Unplanned food day

Howdy,

So one of the meals i made for this week turned out horrible lol. That will teach me to try and save $.30 by buying the Safeway brand of mac and cheese. It got all mushy and tasted horrible when reheated. I couldn’t even make myself eat it so i had to toss it all which i didnt feel good about.
I have a bunch of the straw propeller oatmeal left that i bought for my hike so that is starting to be my breakfast most days.

image

Gotta have my coffee

image

This mug is actually really cool it is recyclable, microwaveable and dishwasher safe and i got it for $5!

For lunch i had leftovers from my breakfast out on Sunday.

image

Veggie omelette and hashbrowns.
My coworker went out for lunch so i asked her to pick me up a Starbucks 😄

image

I picked up a frozen pizza from the grocery store and added pineapple.

image

Thankfully i have enough for two lunches or lunch and dinner.

My roommate made brownies with zucchini in them! Remember that we have an abundance of summer squash right now. She also used dark chocolate cocoa

image

That means i can eat more right? It has veggies and antioxidants.

In my organics to you box i got a small bunch of carrots that was starting to get soft since i hadn’t used them so i chopped them up to throw in the freezer so when soup season comes i can just throw them in!

image

Plus that means i dont have to toss them and waste food.

On a fun side note i got some free glasses at work today

image

Very star trek, but i kind of like them lol.

What is your go to food when you dont have a meal planned?

What is your favorite veggie to put in baked goods?

My weekend

Hey everyone!!! I can’t believe the weekend is coming to an end again!!!!! It went by waaay too fast.

Friday night after work i went out with B and my roommate C.
C just got a new account at work so it was celebration time! We went to a martini bar/Restaurant called Twigs i had a blood orange martini and a pink lemonade martini.

image

4 slightly tipsy girls decided to walk down the street and see Magic Mike XXL, i actually liked it better than the first one.

image

Saturday morning B and i got up and went for a run in the park.

image

image

It startes to rain at the end of our run.

image

Then of course it was time for a post run treat.

image

Saturday night was my work’s ‘Christmas’ party. We did the Portland spirits cruise…..it was pirate themed.

image

image

image

I enjoyed spending most of the time on the top deck watching the scenery.

image

image

Sunday i went out to breakfast with my friend J, then came back home and relaxed the rest of the day. I had a slight hangover so i spent the day relaxing and hydrating. Washed some laundry and did a little reading.

Here’s to a great start for the coming week!
