She is just so sweet!!

But sadly up and off to work i went. 

It was customer appreciation day at Zoup, a soup, salad and sandwiche place and they were offering 8oz soups for $.98! 

I got chicken tortilla and it was delicious 

The only bad thing I can say about Zoup is that the sodium is really high in all the soups so I can’t do it too often. 

We had a showing at the house after work so I didn’t get to start my workouts until just after 7pm. 

That was really hard, coming home and sitting down, turning on a TV show while people walked through the house then having to get up and workout, a good part of me wanted to say ‘oh today can just be a rest day ‘ I compromised and said just do a quick speed workout. 

I’ve never officially done a speed workout so I started easy. 

I warmed up for 3 min at about 2.8 speed

Run 30 sec @ 4mph

Walk 1:45 sec @ 2.5 pace

Run 30 sec @mph

Walk 1:45 @ 2.5 

Run 30 sec @ 6mph 

And on and on up to 10mph then back down to 4. I actually really enjoyed it. Next week I will up the running to 35 sec

I was a sweaty mess afterwards.  

The dinner, emptied the dishwasher  (yay productivity!!!!)

Packed for tomorrow and off to bed now!!!

A late morning 

Good morning! Happy Hump day!!!

Artemis woke me up at 3am by jumping on me, she needed to go outside. I am glad she woke me up because she got sick outside. I should say 3am wakeup calls are a non-occurance for her. 

We came back in and went back to sleep. This morning I am going into work late to make sure she is ok. 

My poor little girl. She had a trying 24 hours. I gave her a bath last night  (which she doesn’t enjoy but like a good girl she stands still)

We are watching Gilmore Girls

One of the best shows ever.

We are doing lots of cuddling

I made myself a basic breakfast, oatmeal


And put a small cup of food in Artemis’ bowl, now we will make sure she doesn’t get sick then it’s off to work for me!

I was supposed to run 2-3 miles this morning but that will be moved to after work, hopefully it won’t be too warm, I need to check the weather forecast.

Happy Tuesday!!!!

Today started off good, i hit the gym and had a training session with my trainer. It was hard but didnt kill me, we backed off a bit so that i wouldn’t be soooo sore that i couldnt do anything else hahaha.

Then off to work i went!

So i have a designated bowl at work that i use just for oatmeal that i keep stocked in my drawer, AKA second breakfast.

 

I would say this happens at least 2-3 days a week. I make the oatmeal then fill the bowl with water and let it sit until just before i leave then i wipe it out for tomorrow

Oatmeal turns into cemente if you dont soak the dish or clean it right away.

I have been being good so far this week and bringing fruit for snacks, like this delicious nectarine

I knew I was going to workout twice today and didn’t bring enough food so on my lunch I hit taco bell for some crunchy tacos fresco style 

Later came my delicious 2nd lunch

My slow cooker apricot chicken and rice

After work I headed to the gym for a 30min spin

This is the look on my face when I am tired and forgot a 2nd shirt for my second workout so I put in the stinky still damp shirt from this mornings workout 

Then I headed home quick to see the puppies.

Good Morning!!

Last night was good. I feel like I accomplished a lot. After work I headed to the gym to swim

My meal prepped paid off. I came home and showered to get the chlorine out of my hair and skin then just popped a plate in the microwave and BAM! Yummy dinner

And it’s so simple to make.

Start anywhere between 1-4 cups of rice depending on how much you need. 2 cups got me 4 meals. 

In a saute pan or Dutch oven or anything that is big enough really heat up some olive oil on medium heat. I always add extra olive oil to make a ‘sauce ‘ chop up and onion and throw it in the pan. 

Chop up 2 bell pepper and throw them in with the onions.

Chop up a package of Polish kielbasa sausage and throw that in. 

Add some pepper and garlic powder. 

Cook until meat is heated up and the veggies are cooked to your desired doneness and serve over rice. 

I emptied the dishwasher and started a load of laundry.

I love this little girl so much

Before bed I threw my laundry in the dryer and prepped my clothes for Tuesday AM (I am writing this Monday night)

Monday: Swim 800m after work

Tuesday: AM strength with trainer, Spin for 30 min after work

Wednesday: Run 3 miles before work w/ Artemis

Thursday: AM strength with trainer, Spin for 30 min after work

Friday: Run 3 miles before work w/ Artemis, Swim 850m after work

Saturday: 8am Spin class, Swim 850 m

Sunday: Run 10 miles

I tried to be very realistic with my workouts this week and I am determined to stick to this plan. We will review on Sunday if i met my goals.

Sunday Funday

Got up around 7:30 this morning and relaxed. I made a bagel for breakfast 

Got started on my hydration 

And watched a documentary on Netflix about the 2015 crossfit games

While cuddling with my dog

Then it was time to get up and run.

1/3 of the way through 

Artemis made it 4.3 miles, slowly but surely we are adding to her stamina. I need to get her one of those little dog packs so she can carry a little dish and water for her.

Post workout I craved noodles and sodium

Then I finally got up and meal prepped my last meal. Yay for ready food during the week!

An Interesting Saturday 

So I was supposed to spin this morning and maybe swim but I woke up still hobbling from my Thursday strength session. 

I hit the grocery store to stock up for the week. 

Made myself a nice breakfast 

Then I did this electrode massage thing I have that I bought at my first half marathon expo, that helped loosen me up a little. 

Then I prepped and threw apricot chicken in the crock pot to start cooking, relaxed a bit then left to meet my friend in Portland. I parked at a park and ride and rode the trimet/max into the city. My connecting train took a few minutes but it all worked out. 


Jessie, my friend, picked me up from the stop and we got tea together and caught up on life.

Then I headed back on the trimet again and of course there was an issue so I had to get off the trimet and on a shuttle where some stupid punks got on and caused a little trouble. I will admit every possible deadly scenario went through my head but it all turned out fine. Then we got back on the trimet a few stops down and when I arrived at the final transit center where I had parked, there were 4 armed cops at the exit. They were checking for people who hadn’t paid and of course some lady tried to run past them. I walked to my car as quick as I could in case it turned into something. Finally after 2 hours of travel to go out 10 miles I made it home. 

I finished off the apricot chicken dish and made my Polish kielbasa sausage dish. This is part 1 of my food preparation for the week.

I must get 9 miles in tomorrow even if I need to walk half of it from soreness.
