My weekend

Hi! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Saturday my roommate and i dragged ourselves to the gym. I did 2 miles. Then Saturday afternoon i did some food prep.

Sunday i slept in than ran my 7 miles. I wanted to die several times but i am glad i did it.
In the afternoon i made roasted leek and potato soup.

In the PM i finally got to spend time with my boyfriend, poor guy had mandatory overtime all weekend.

I made us homemade tacos.

Book Review**A History of the World in 6 Glasses

I liked this book but didn’t love it.
Each drink was very interesting. They had 2 chapters and several sub-chapters on each drink. I think they could have stopped at 1 chapter on each drink.

About a chapters worth of information on each drink was really interesting to me, after that i started to get a little bored.

I would still recommend the book to everyone but be prepared to skim a few pages.

Wooo thank goodness its Friday!!!

All this talk about coffee and i didnt get any this morning, i had tea.

It was a pretty good day. I went for a run on lunch.

I got my 3 miles done and was tired but not exhausted afterwards.

In the afternoon my coworker and i split a new soda juice drink thing.

It was super yummy. Not an every day thing for me though.

I ordered a pizza when i got home, i know bad me but i made it thin crust with light cheese and some veggies and i got a salad to go with it.

I watched episode 3 of fear the walking dead. I like it, i think it is slowly picking up the pace.

Then i watched the first 2 episodes of season 5 of the walking dead until they were talking to a guy while eating his cooked leg, which traumatized my roommate hahahaha. So we put in fast seven or is it furious seven……i dont know. It was my first time watching it. It was good. Felt kind of sad watching Paul Walker do a bunch of crazy driving sunts whem he died in a car crash. RIP.

My hip flexors or whatever is at the top of my thigh is crazy sore today, i don’t think I’ve ever felt that muscle be sore. Thank you personal trainer. Alright bedtime for me so i can get up and run tomorrow……and do meal prep. Hope you had a good day!!!!

Howdy! Wooo the work week is almost over!!

Capsule wardrobe- jean jeggings, butterfly tank and boots. I got so many compliments on this shirt today!.

Got my pumpkin spice latte at lunch today but I tried it with coconut milk to make it a little healthier……not bad! Not quite as creamy and amazing but still super good. I might switch back and forth.

Tonight i had my personal traiming session, it was a strength session. I am totally stoked i cam tell that i am starting to get stronger!!! Now if i could just wittle down some of this fat I’d be golden…….but i just love bad food so much!!!

Meal prep is a must this weekend.

So i am reading for my book review post this weekend  amd LOVE thos coffee quote.

Was supposed to run today but i just so wasn’t in the mood.

Tonight i watched the first episode of Fear the Walking dead. Not sure about it yet.

Race Review**Pints to Pasta 10k 2015

Happy Tuesday!!!

Ok the race review.

This is the first race i ever went to completely by myself, no one to run with and no cheerleader on the sideline. That was empowering but also not as much fun.

I knew from the beginning it was not going to be a great race day for me, you know when you just get that feeling?

I didn’t want to get up early then my google maps app took me all over the place so i got there with like 15 min to spare to pick up my bib# before i was supposed to board the shuttle to the start line. Parking was crazy and i had to walk a little ways to get to the race area.

This was the first year they added on the half marathon which added a whole new logistical thing for them. So the half marathon started at the spaghetti factory and was out and back. The 10k people were shuttled to the 6 mile point and our timing chips started from there and we ran to the finish line.

So i got there and got my bib about 6:50, the last shuttle was supposed to depart at 7:00……..the line was wrapped around the parking lot several times.

The half marathon started pretty much on time at 7:35. The 10k was supposed to start at 7:30 but was pushed to 7:50 because of the line of people. 7:50 came and went and i was still in line for the shuttle as were several hundred other people. They said not to worry, that our timing chip would start counting once we crossed the start line.

45 minutes later i am still in line waiting for a shuttle……..the first 10k finishers start crossing the finish line…….that so didn’t help my mood. I finally got on a shuttle and started the race.

This was a killer race for me, my legs were so tight it hurt, I did a lot of walking/slow jogging. My goal was a 1:30 time for this race (yes i run slower than a turtle walks) but with all the pain and walking and hills i figured i was more like 1:45. Got my time later that day…….1:29:44, wooohoooo!!!! Beat my goal my 16 seconds. I know that doesnt sound like a lot, but it was huge for me, especially on that day.

This is oregon so of course the top of the medal is a bottle opener hahaha.

Post race they had spaghetti with mariara sauce and spaghetti with oil and cheese. They also had salad with a balsalmic vinegrette. I was dying so i only ate a little but it was actually pretty delicious.

Overall i wanted to die but i enjoyed the race and the post race festivities, however i think they need to work on their planning for future years.

My Weekend.

Hi!!! I hope you all had a great weekend!

Friday night i got home from work and with a little convincing got myself to the gym and swam laps for about 20-25 min then read a little bit. I know im slacking on the book reviews, i promise ill have one this coming Saturday.

Saturday morning my roommate and i hit the gym. I did two miles and tried to keep it pretty easy on myself. The rest of the day i had the house all to myself, which was wonderful!!! I did Laundry and watched a Grey’s anatomy marathon.

But before my roommate left for the day her poor little doggie had a seizure so she took him to the vet and we are all keeping an eye on him.

The boyfriend was out of town Friday night and Saturday day celebrating his birthday in Seattle with some friends. He stoped by Saturday night to say hi and bring me Starbucks…..the perfect man 🙂

Sunday i got up at the crack of dawn to run the pints to pasta 10k. I’ll review that on Tuesday.

Post run. I was so freaking exhausted.

Nice medal.
This was a hard run for me. My legs were so tight from training i was in pain. I did a lot of walk/jogging.

Sunday night the boyfriend took me out to dinner to a nice restaurant. When we were walking back to the car i saw a sign that said twilight. Yes i like them but am not obbessed or anything. Turns out the scene where she confirms hes a vampire and the lion and lamb comment is made was filmed behind the restaurant.

They have a bunch of signs posted about which part of the movies were filmed were.

My roomie and i went and saw ‘a walk in the woods’ which was hilarious. I listened to the book on tape earlier this year.

Saturday i didn’t do the capsule wardrobe since i was in gym clothes then lounging clothes. Today i was in workout clothes in the AM and im the PM i wore

It was comfortable and relaxed but cute enough to wear to the nice restaurant for an early dinner. When i went to the movies i added the slouchy sweatshirt. So comfortable and cute.

Happy Friday!!!!! This week raced by which is awesome!!! Today is flying by as well, my coworker is out sick so i am doing extra work today. Its just busy enough to make the day fly without me being overwhelmed.

Last night i met my roomie at the gym and did 3 miles, parts of it were a struggle after my training Wednesday night but i pushed through.

Then rolled my legs out on my foam roller, i.e. a torture device that just happens to make you feel better afterwards…….and cuts your sorness days in half.

Today is 9/11, we remember those who lost their lives

Not that its not important to remember but why dont we make such a big deal of the day pearl hardor was struck, that was American soil too. Or the day Katrina struck. We mention them on the radio and stuff but no where near the extent of 9/11. Maybe because it was a terrorist attack instead of a war or natural disaster, but i just dont 100% understand why 9/11 is more important to remember and honor than those things……any insight?
