Mom and i left my Grandma’s this morning at about 6:30am. We are heading to Mt. Laguna for me to start the trail again from there.
I’m very excited, i am taking my mom’s pack back in place of mine, since her pack is 2lbs lighter than mine. My tent is now 2lbs lighter than it was and i have dropped a lot of excess things from my pack.
Now with everything and food and water, my pack weighs 35lbs. Wooohoo!!! That is about half the weight that i started with.
Things are looking up for my hike. 😄
I am still nervous though and self doubt has certainly crept in. Fingers crosssd things go better.

I love you baby!!! It’s your hike, so go as far as you want. Sharon is right. Don’t look back in life and be disappointed because you didn’t try. Remember anything you try in life is a learning experience so go out and keep learning. Growing up in So CA, until Ariana decided to hike the PCT, I had never heard of Mt Laguna. It was a very pleasant surprise. Forest all around with lots of different campgrounds at about 6,000 ft. Temperature at 9:30 am was about 59 degrees. However, the best part for me was the fact that there was a Boy Scout troop starting a 100 mile hike along the PCT right where we were. We talked to them, so they know she is behind them and they left about 10 min before she did. Some Peace of Mind for mama!!! Hoping she might be high enough up to possibly have a signal tonight to post but we’ll see………
